At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the electric Toyota bZ3X and bZ7 were officially unveiled – both developed under the “Regional Chief Engineer” (RCE) system. |

This is a new direction, empowering local engineers to take the initiative in product planning and R&D, helping to create "purely Chinese" car models from platform, design to function - similar to the strategy that Nissan is implementing in this market. |

Toyota bZ3X is a small electric SUV developed on the e-TNGA platform. The vehicle has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,645 x 1,885 x 1,625 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Users can choose from a front-wheel drive version (150 kW) or a 2-wheel drive version with two engines (80 kW + 150 kW). |

Using LFP batteries, the bZ3X has a CLTC range of 500 or 600 km depending on the version. The interior is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with an integrated Snapdragon 8155 chip, a panoramic sunroof and a level 2+ driving assistance system developed by Momenta. |

Toyota has also restructured its operations in China under a “Single R&D” strategy, merging joint ventures FAW Toyota, GAC Toyota, BYD Toyota and the Changshu R&D center. Engineers such as Liu Wenbin (who led the bZ3X project) and Ye Zhihui (who led the bZ7) now take on full vehicle development roles – rather than simply adapting designs from global models. |

The bZ3X is a prime example of this new model, with the entire development process based on in-depth research into the lifestyles and expectations of young Chinese families. Meanwhile, the bZ7 sedan becomes the first joint venture vehicle to use Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system. |

Toyota affirms that they are not “racing for speed”, but applying a cautious implementation strategy, prioritizing product safety and perfection to build long-term trust with consumers – in line with the company’s sustainable development philosophy, even in the era of rapidly changing electric vehicles. |

The car will be distributed in 3 versions: 430 Air+, 520 Pro+ and 620 Max, the price of Toyota bZ3X is expected to be from 100,000 - 200,000 yuan (equivalent to 350 - 698 million VND). The car has the same size as models in the C-size CUV segment with length x width x height of 4,600 x 1,875 x 1,645 mm, wheelbase of 2,765 mm. |
