Cao Lanh City First Place Overall Team Athletics and Swimming Tournament for Age Groups at Provincial Level

DTO - The 2025 Dong Thap Province Athletics and Swimming Tournament for all age groups, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Departmentof Education and Training in Cao Lanh City, took place from April 25 to 27.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the top 3 units for overall achievements.

The tournament gathered 241 athletes from 9 units, including the districts: Tam Nong, Hong Ngu, Thanh Binh, Thap Muoi, Lai Vung, Lap Vo, Cao Lanh, Cao Lanh City, Sa Dec City. Participating in athletics, athletes competed in 3 age groups (9-10, 11-12 and 13-14) with the following events: individual running (60m, 100m, 300m, 600m), 4x100m relay, on-the-spot long jump, shot put, high jump and long jump. For swimming, athletes competed in 4 age groups (7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15) with the following events: breaststroke, freestyle 25m, 50m and relay 4x25m, 4x50m.

After 3 days of exciting competition, athletes from all units have contributed to dramatic and exciting matches. Taking advantage of the advantage in athletics, Cao Lanh City excellently achieved first place overall with 17 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 6 bronze medals. Thanh Binh district achieved 11 gold medals, 15 silver medals, 9 bronze medals, ranking second; third place belonged to Hong Ngu district with 9 gold medals, 15 silver medals, 10 bronze medals.

The Dong Thap province athletics and swimming tournaments for age groups are held annually to assess the quality of the training movement in localities and to have appropriate development strategies. At the same time, excellent athletes are selected to be added to the province's athletics and swimming talent team to continue training and prepare forces to participate in national competitions in the coming years.
