On the afternoon of September 24, within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue 2024, Ho Chi Minh City announced the international friendship symbol at Bach Dang Wharf Park (District 1).

The international friendship symbol is not only a work of art, but also a vivid symbol of the spirit of friendship, solidarity and long-term cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and 58 localities around the world . The idea of this symbol comes from the desire for international friends to feel closeness, respect and pride when setting foot in Ho Chi Minh City.
The symbol of friendship is highlighted by the Mobius circle - a symbol of infinity, symbolizing continuous, sustainable and endless development. This is the door connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the world, and between the world and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Mobius Circle is also a means to display cultural and artistic images, to introduce the beauty and hospitality of the city to international friends.
Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the friendship symbol located at Bach Dang Wharf Park is a vivid demonstration of the city's vision in elevating foreign affairs; sending to international friends a message of welcome, openness and aspiration to reach out to the world, together building a peaceful and prosperous future.

“As we contemplate this symbol of International Friendship, let us together deepen the values of connection that we have been cultivating, and look forward to a bright future where peace, prosperity and cooperation will last forever,” said Mr. Hoan.
According to the records, after the ceremony to announce the international friendship symbol, international delegates and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City walked to see the city from Ben Bach Dang Park; experienced making and enjoying a cup of egg coffee at 3T Egg Coffee (No. 1A Ton Duc Thang, District 1).

Also in the afternoon of the same day, the paragliding and hot air balloon performance on the banks of the Saigon River was a special and impressive program that Ho Chi Minh City presented to the delegates attending the 2024 Friendship Dialogue.
After the paragliding performance, 18 hot air balloons flew in the sky from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on September 24. The balloons displayed the Vietnamese flag and the flags of countries with international sister cities to Ho Chi Minh City.
On the morning of September 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue (FD) 2024 officially opened. The program took place over two days (September 23 and 24) with the theme "Industrial Transformation: Experience and Priorities in Development Cooperation".
This is the second time in 2024 that the program has been organized to promote relations between Ho Chi Minh City and its sister localities around the world; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
