The honeybee sting caused Ms. T.'s breast to become deeply ulcerated and her breast cancer to progress rapidly, spreading to the axillary and neck lymph nodes. She went to Xuyen A General Hospital for examination with a deep ulcer on her right breast that invaded the chest wall and contained painful inflammatory foci.
Escaped hospital, bought honey bees to treat breast cancer
According to the patient's mother, 2 years ago, Ms. T. discovered a hard lump in her breast, suspecting cancer, so her family took her to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for examination. The results showed that she had metastatic breast cancer on both sides and was hospitalized for treatment.
However, due to psychological disorders, she escaped from the hospital. Despite all the encouragement from her family, Ms. T. still refused to be treated at the hospital.
All advice was in vain, the family searched online for a home cancer treatment and learned that honeybee venom, when stung on the breast, could help destroy cancer cells within 24 hours. Therefore, the family bought dozens of honeybees and stung both of Ms. T's breasts in the hope of curing the disease.
Spending millions to buy bees for treatment, but the disease still did not improve as expected, on the contrary, Ms. T's right breast became increasingly swollen, filled with pus, causing her pain. Since then, the right breast has been ulcerated, the ulcer has penetrated deep into the chest wall, and is bleeding. Until the pain became unbearable, she and her family took the initiative to seek treatment at Xuyen A General Hospital.
Here, the doctors examined and performed tests, and found that Ms. T. had bilateral breast cancer, and the tumor had metastasized to the axillary and neck lymph nodes. The doctors held a consultation and agreed on a surgical plan to treat the infected breast tumor, which could cause sepsis, blood loss, and threaten the patient's life.

Infected ulcerated breast tumor
On June 11, specialist doctor Pham Anh Tu, Oncology Department, Xuyen A General Hospital (HCMC) said that patient T. was admitted to the hospital with a severe breast tumor, an infected ulcerated tumor that was at risk of causing sepsis. After performing general assessment tests, the team performed surgery to remove both breasts and tried to pull the skin to cover the patient's chest wall due to the deep ulcerated tumor.
Currently, patient T.'s health is gradually recovering, her physical condition is good, the patient no longer has breast pain, and has returned to eating and living normally.
According to the plan, after patient T.'s health stabilizes, doctors will develop a chemotherapy regimen to treat and prolong the patient's life.
From the case of patient T., Dr. Pham Anh Tu recommends that people should not let themselves be stung by bees or apply leaves to treat cancer at home. These folk remedies do not help the tumor disappear but also cause infection, ulcers, and sometimes the blood vessels that feed the tumor proliferate and rupture, leading to continuous bleeding that threatens life. When the body shows unusual symptoms that are suspected of having a tumor, the patient should go to a hospital with an oncology department to be examined by a doctor and receive timely and effective treatment.
