Ho Chi Minh City and WEF jointly announced promoting smart manufacturing, opening up strategic cooperation and affirming Ho Chi Minh City's pioneering role in the global innovation network.

On the afternoon of November 26, at the Dialogue Session of the Autumn Economic Forum 2025, Ho Chi Minh City and the World Economic Forum (WEF) issued a Joint Statement on the initiative "Promoting smart manufacturing and responsible industrial transformation in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam".

This is an important milestone, not only connecting Vietnam with the global innovation network but also opening a promising cooperation journey for Ho Chi Minh City to continue to innovate strongly, towards sustainable development and accompany the World Economic Forum, actively contributing to the global economic network.

Thereby, it also affirms the pioneering role of Ho Chi Minh City in promoting innovation, applying science and technology and developing the digital economy. This is also a clear demonstration of the determination of the City named after Uncle Ho in the journey to rise strongly with the country.

The two sides agreed to jointly implement the Initiative to promote smart manufacturing and responsible industrial transformation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on a suitable basis. Thereby, contributing to the development of the Lighthouse Operating System (Lighthouse OS) on a global scale.

At the same time, support smart manufacturing strategy and pilot implementation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam through practical tools, implementing capacity building activities and knowledge sharing.

The Ho Chi Minh City Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (HCMC C4IR) and the WEF Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chain Center (AMSC) were assigned to coordinate in planning and implementing activities under the Lighthouse OS initiative in Vietnam.

The Joint Statement between Ho Chi Minh City and WEF is an important milestone affirming the position of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam as a co-creating partner in global initiatives led by WEF, reflecting the new position of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in the international cooperation network.
