At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Head of SHTP Management Board, said that over the past 23 years, the High-Tech Park has gone through a challenging journey, from site clearance, investment attraction, infrastructure construction, human resource training and research development. These efforts have contributed to making SHTP a bright spot on Vietnam's high-tech map. To date, the park has attracted 163 investors, including 51 FDI projects (with a total capital of over 10.3 billion USD) and 112 domestic projects (with a total capital of over 54,800 billion VND).

Attracting the world's leading corporations such as Intel (USA), Samsung (Korea), Nidec, Nipro (Japan), Datalogic (Italy), Sanofi, Schneider Electronics (France)... has contributed to affirming Ho Chi Minh City's position on the global high-tech map.
Currently, 112 projects operating at SHTP have created jobs for more than 52,000 workers, with export turnover accounting for 47% of the city's total exports in peak years, contributing 1.7 billion USD to the State budget.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, expressed his pride in the results that SHTP has achieved after more than two decades of formation and development. Mr. Duoc emphasized that the vision of the city's leaders more than 20 years ago, when establishing SHTP, was a strategic decision, demonstrating the aspiration for a "Silicon Valley of Vietnam".
However, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also frankly admitted: "So are we satisfied with what we have done? In my opinion, not yet. We must continue to innovate to catch up with the world's technology level, worthy of being a Silicon Valley in Ho Chi Minh City."
From that spirit, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has clearly stated a new goal, turning Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park into a high-tech powerhouse, especially in the fields of AI and semiconductor chips.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, this is not a far-fetched dream because Vietnam has the advantage of intelligent people, a good mathematical foundation and the spirit of aspiration of the young generation. "The problem is that we can arouse their aspirations and create conditions for them to access the world, then that dream can completely come true," Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc commented.
In fact, SHTP has laid the foundation for this aspiration. The Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) was inaugurated in September 2024 and became an official member of the World Economic Forum (WEF). At the same time, the Semiconductor Industry Development Program for the period 2025 - 2030 was approved, aiming to make SHTP the core of the national microchip ecosystem, cooperating with global technology corporations such as Siemens, Synopsys, Cadence, AMD.

To realize this great aspiration, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, outlined three key orientations: First, changing the planning mindset to transform SHTP from a high-tech industrial park into a "science city" or "science park", a place where scientists, engineers, and experts gather to have an ideal creative, working, and living environment.
Second, promote the “three-house” linkage model: State - School - Enterprise. Mr. Duoc emphasized the role of universities, especially Ho Chi Minh City National University, in training high-quality human resources, closely linked to the practical needs of enterprises.

Third, promote administrative procedure reform, create maximum conditions for investors. Mr. Duoc affirmed: "On-site promotion and on-site care is the best promotion. If Long An can do it, Binh Duong can do it, Ho Chi Minh City must do it too."
Receiving the above instructions, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung said that SHTP Management Board always adheres to the motto "Taking enterprises as the center and service objects", aiming to build a transparent, favorable and attractive investment environment for domestic and foreign investors.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City expressed his belief: "If we share the same aspirations, innovate together, learn from the world and do it for real, Ho Chi Minh City will certainly become the leading high-tech center in the region, realizing the dream of a Vietnamese Silicon Valley."
