Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that after the merger, Ho Tram is one of the coastal areas with special potential in developing resort tourism and eco-tourism. With a long beach, natural landscapes that still retain their wildness, along with a system of protective forests, mineral springs, and a diverse natural coastal ecosystem, Ho Tram is considered a location with the potential to form unique and outstanding tourism products in the tourism network linking the Southeast region and Ho Chi Minh City.
However, according to Mr. Binh, the tourism exploitation process needs to be placed in the problem of balancing economic development and environmental protection. If tourism development does not focus on landscape conservation, the core natural values of Ho Tram will be eroded. The problem of development must go hand in hand with a long-term resource conservation strategy.
Agreeing with this opinion, Mr. Trinh Hang, former Director of the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old) said that the strategy for developing Ho Tram tourism needs to aim towards a green and responsible tourism model. Accordingly, tourism development planning must be linked to ecological and local economic connections; prioritizing products associated with nature, high-end resorts, and health care instead of expanding accommodation facilities indiscriminately, putting pressure on infrastructure and the environment.

On the local side, Mr. Nguyen Tuc, Vice Chairman of Ho Tram Commune People's Committee, also proposed 3 key groups of recommendations including: Continuing to create favorable mechanisms to attract sustainable tourism investment; prioritizing investment in improving the traffic - electricity - water infrastructure system serving tourism; strengthening promotional activities, promoting Ho Tram destination with a green, safe and friendly image.
On behalf of the business, Mr. Le Thanh Phong, Director of The Grand Hotel, said that the current difficulty lies in traffic connection. Traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Ho Tram currently depends on the road, takes a long time and is prone to congestion on weekends, affecting the tourist experience. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City needs to soon implement solutions to connect inter-regional traffic to facilitate passenger transportation.
According to tourism experts, to effectively exploit the potential of Ho Tram, the important thing is not to rapidly develop the number of projects but to build the identity and core values of the destination.

Mr. Binh said that local authorities and businesses need to coordinate closely in building the destination identity “Ho Tram - Living in the middle of nature”, developing green tourism standards, encouraging businesses to apply models of waste reduction, energy saving, and preserving the culture of coastal fishing communities. In particular, tourism products in Ho Tram must be developed in a selective and responsible manner so that nature becomes a strategic and irreplaceable asset.
Also within the framework of the working session, the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism surveyed a number of tourist attractions and accommodation facilities in Ho Tram. Mr. Bui Thanh Sang, representative of TST Tourism and Trade Services Joint Stock Company, said that through the survey of tourism products in Ho Tram, the business has a better understanding of the characteristics of local tourism, thereby building specialized tours such as family resort tourism, health care tourism, eco-tourism combined with experiencing marine culture.
