Before that, grasping the dangerous situation, Vung Tau ward promptly evacuated a total of 81 people from 19 households living in this area to ensure the safety of life and property.
The survey team noted that this area is located on a steep mountain slope, the ground is weak and many houses are built without embankments. At the same time, the team noted a number of locations with frog jaws, landslides and exposed foundations, posing a risk of landslides, causing insecurity for apartments in the area and threatening the lives and property of households living below.
In a discussion with the Department of Construction’s Working Group, a representative of the Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department of Vung Tau Ward said that the locality will propose building a dike to prevent and limit landslides and ensure safety for the area below. However, finding housing for households is also a difficult problem.
A representative of the Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department of Vung Tau Ward shared: "For now, we have relocated the households for a few days. The locality is also quite confused when having to relocate many households for a long time. However, due to safety reasons, we cannot allow the households to return to live."
According to the representative of the Working Group of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, after the field inspection, the delegation will have a written report to the Department's leaders on the current situation. On that basis, the Department will evaluate and consider implementing measures to overcome and prevent landslides, avoiding affecting the property and lives of people in the area.
