Maintain growth momentum
Right from the beginning of the year, in order to contribute to the province's goal of achieving double-digit economic growth by 2025, Tan Uyen City has focused on efforts to overcome difficulties, working with all levels, sectors, people and businesses to adapt to the new situation. The city is also promoting the transformation of the growth model; restructuring, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, autonomy, adaptability, competitiveness and sustainability of the economy.
According to the People's Committee of Tan Uyen City, in 2025, the city was assigned 25 targets according to groups of issues such as economic, urban, environmental, cultural - social, digital transformation, national defense - security. From the beginning of the year, the City People's Committee focused on directing the synchronous implementation of solutions to organize the implementation of assigned targets. In the economic field, in the first quarter of 2025, the value of industrial and construction production is estimated at over 6,636 billion VND, up 7.14%; total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated at 10,366 billion VND, up 26.38% over the same period in 2024.
Notably, from the beginning of the year, the City People's Committee directed sectors, communes and wards to implement investment procedures for projects in the 2025 public investment plan; speed up the construction progress of transitional projects. The results showed that in the first quarter, the value of disbursed public investment capital in 2025 of the city was VND 178 billion 583 million/VND 804 billion 764 million, reaching 22% of the plan. This is a fairly good growth rate in the context of the domestic and provincial economies being heavily affected by the difficult situation of the world economy.
Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Uyen City, said that identifying 2025 as a year of special importance, the city is making efforts to unlock resources, attract investment, and promote economic growth with many synchronous solutions. The city is focusing on directing the implementation of site clearance for projects; effectively implementing the public investment capital plan for 2025, contributing together with departments, branches, and localities in the province to achieve the province's double-digit growth target.
Efforts to complete key projects
In 2025, Tan Uyen City aims to increase industrial production value by 13%, and trade and service value by 24%. To achieve the set goals, the city is focusing all resources to implement plans, tasks, solutions, and flexibly adapt to socio-economic development.

In addition, the city is increasing investment in technical infrastructure and social infrastructure according to the planning, contributing to rapidly changing the urban appearance; urban technical infrastructure is increasingly complete in a synchronous, civilized and modern direction; along with that, the synchronous transportation system connects to areas inside and outside the province, including waterway, road transport, port systems, stations, warehouses. For regional connecting road projects such as Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway passing through Tan Uyen City, opening up opportunities to strengthen economic connectivity and trade for Tan Uyen urban area. These projects are creating a new look, creating a foundation for the city's development.
Currently, Tan Uyen City has completed the dossier and the Provincial People's Committee has approved the Local Adjustment of the General Planning of Tan Uyen City until 2040; implementing procedures for planning, adjusting zoning plans, adjusting general planning of communes and wards... In the second quarter of 2025, the city will accelerate construction progress, soon complete transitional works; temporarily suspend investment, repair, construction of headquarters, and purchase of equipment in the city in accordance with the direction of the Central Government and the province; at the same time, quickly handle problems in the work of establishing procedures and focus on speeding up the progress of site clearance for projects.
Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi added that the city is focusing on completing the compensation, support and resettlement of key projects, such as DH402 road; dredging and reinforcing Cai stream from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river; clearing the road along Cai stream; mobilizing human resources to carry out the site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 section through the city... Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the city will continue to mobilize all resources and effectively use investment capital to develop the economic and social infrastructure system.
