World gold price today May 15, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 3,181.28 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 2.14% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,466 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 101.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 18.5 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices plunged more than 2% to their lowest level in more than a month as rising trade optimism boosted risk appetite, prompting investors to abandon safe-haven assets like gold, Reuters reported.
“The global rally triggered by the US-China tariff reduction has triggered a technical correction in gold,” said Tai Wong, an independent metals trader.
Wall Street's major indexes opened in the green, boosted by the tax deal and hopes for more trade agreements.
Washington and Beijing have agreed to sharply reduce tariffs and implement a 90-day pause to discuss details of the terms.
US President Donald Trump said in an interview on Tuesday that he would likely negotiate directly with Chinese President Xi Jinping to finalize the deal. He also revealed that potential deals with India, Japan and South Korea are also in the works.
Gold, considered a safe haven in times of geopolitical and economic uncertainty, hit a record high of $3,500.05 an ounce last month. It is still up 21.6% year-to-date.
“The long-term trend for gold remains bullish, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the current decline continues for a few more days. The first support level is $3,136, followed by $3,073 and finally the crucial $3,000 level,” said Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com.
Investors are now awaiting US producer price index (PPI) data, due for release on Thursday, after weaker-than-expected CPI data prompted markets to reconsider the Federal Reserve's policy path.
Low interest rates typically increase the appeal of gold, a non-yielding asset.
Spot silver fell 1.8% to $32.29 an ounce. Platinum fell 0.5% to $983.42, while palladium edged up 0.1% to $957.65.
