Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Vy - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Le Minh The - Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the City; Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh - Chairman of the City People's Committee.
Accordingly, responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", after nearly 1 month of construction, the project to build 34 new solidarity houses and gratitude houses owned by the State for people with revolutionary contributions, martyrs' relatives and poor households in the city has basically been completed.
Of which, 15 solidarity houses were built on public land in Dong Co Do hamlet, Binh Minh commune and 19 gratitude houses and solidarity houses were built on public land in residential area 5, ward 1.
Each house has an area of over 30m2 to over 50m2 with full functionality, ensuring the living needs of a family. The total cost of the project is over 6.7 billion VND, drawn from the State budget and sources of the Gratitude Fund, the Fund for the Poor of the province and city.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Minh The congratulated the households who were awarded houses this time and said that in the past time, the Party Committee and authorities at all levels have focused on leadership and direction to speed up the progress of the project. This is also one of the meaningful and humane activities showing the gratitude and care of the Party Committee, authorities and people of the City for policy families and poor households on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Tay Ninh .
The Secretary of the City Party Committee also requested that the City authorities at all levels continue to pay attention to and carry out social security work well, encourage and create conditions for households to continue to make efforts to overcome difficulties and escape poverty sustainably when they arrive at their new residence.
At the ceremony, provincial and city leaders presented decisions to donate houses and gifts to congratulate 34 households on having new houses and soon stabilizing their lives.
