On the afternoon of October 16, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh signed and issued a document conveying the direction of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on strengthening environmental protection, implementing green transformation and sustainable development in the city.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned relevant departments and branches to develop a specific plan, to be completed before October 30, 2025, to promote green transformation associated with science - technology development and digital transformation.
Specifically, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to organize the dissemination of results and orientations in environmental protection, ensuring energy security and sustainable development. Develop a plan to integrate educational content on environmental protection, climate change response, green transformation and sustainable development into the curriculum, teaching materials and extracurricular activities.
The Department of Science and Technology focuses on disseminating research results and applying science and technology in the fields of energy, environment and green transformation; promoting innovation and developing a circular economy .
The Department of Industry and Trade carries out propaganda and guides the community to use energy economically and efficiently; promotes sustainable production and consumption, builds green brands and disseminates "green" standards to businesses and people.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that the synchronous implementation of the above solutions will contribute to building a city that develops sustainably and is environmentally friendly, aiming towards the goal of comprehensive green transformation in the coming period.
