Phuoc Hoa Prison: 89 prisoners were granted amnesty

On the morning of May 1, Phuoc Hoa Prison, under Department C10, Ministry of Public Security (Thanh Hoa commune, Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province) held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty in 2025 for 89 prisoners.

(ABO) On the morning of May 1, Phuoc Hoa Prison, under Department C10, Ministry of Public Security (located in Thanh Hoa commune, Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province) held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty in 2025 for 89 prisoners serving their sentences, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Attending the event were representatives of the People's Procuracy, the People's Court of Tien Giang province, local authorities and 200 prisoners being reformed at Phuoc Hoa Prison.
In this amnesty, Phuoc Hoa Prison has 89 prisoners pardoned, including 2 special cases. The process of considering and deciding on amnesty for prisoners is strictly implemented, with voting, public approval, transparency and ensuring democracy according to the provisions of law.

To receive thePresident 's special amnesty decision, the prisoners have made constant efforts since the first days of serving their sentences at the prison, have been truly active and self-conscious in studying and working, have always strictly followed the regulations of the detention facility, strictly followed the orders of the prison officers, and have worked with their families to overcome the consequences of their crimes.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Phuong, Deputy Warden of Phuoc Hoa Prison, said: Currently, the unit has 3 sub-camps, regularly managing and educating about 3,000 prisoners with many different crimes, sentences, and ages. Although the material conditions are still difficult, the tradition and experience in managing and educating prisoners have helped the unit always fulfill its tasks well. The amnesty has demonstrated the tradition of humanity and tolerance of the Party and State towards those who have made progress, demonstrated the superiority of our regime, and actively contributed to the fight against distorted and slanderous arguments about human rights.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Phuong, Deputy Warden of Phuoc Hoa Prison, praised the learning and reform process of the pardoned prisoners, hoping that when they return to their families and society, the prisoners pardoned today will become useful people for their families and society.
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Phuong also launched an emulation movement for prisoners who have not been considered for amnesty, encouraging prisoners to stabilize their thoughts, strive to study and improve themselves to soon enjoy the lenient policies of the Party and State.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Phuoc Hoa Prison Board of Directors and relevant agencies presented the President's 2025 amnesty decision to the prisoners; at the same time, encouraged and reminded the prisoners to make efforts to integrate into the community, stabilize their lives soon, and become useful citizens for their families and society.
Representatives of prisoners who received the amnesty decision and prisoners who have not yet received amnesty expressed their joy and emotion at the humane and lenient policy of the Party and State towards those who have made mistakes, and promised to continue to train to become good citizens.
