Take advantage of all favorable conditions to increase coal production

Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin is one of the units achieving good production results in April 2025. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions in the first months of the year, Nui Beo Coal has mobilized maximum human resources for production.

Mr. Le Quoc Khang, Deputy Director of the Company said: We take advantage of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and Sunday holidays to increase production. This year, in addition to the target of meeting the coal demand as planned by the Group, we strive to achieve the design capacity of 2 million tons of coal per year. Therefore, the production rate has always been maintained at a very high level right from the beginning of the year. In April alone, Nui Beo Coal has completed the production plan of 170 thousand tons of coal, while continuing to increase production to meet the coal demand for the upcoming hot season.

Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group , went down to the mine to encourage workers of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin.

The spirit of emulation in production is also very vibrant at all construction sites. For example, at the 5th Mining Site, a key mining unit of the Company, the rate of workers going to work on weekends and the recent Hung Kings' Commemoration Day reached over 90%. Currently, the construction site is organizing the construction of an additional 01 longwall at -160m with a width of 65m. The expansion of the longwall will help the unit increase the number of pairs of coal cuttings from 05 pairs to 07 pairs. The current longwall productivity is 250 tons/shift.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Do, Deputy Manager of Mining Site 5, Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company added: Current technical and human resource organization solutions will help the company increase coal output and delivered furnace meters by 10% in the second quarter of this year.

Quang Hanh Coal Company has just completed the first quarter production with remarkable results. In the first quarter, coal output reached over 252 thousand tons of coal, equal to 25.2% of the yearly plan; coal consumption reached over 746 thousand tons, higher than the plan. The main technical and economic indicators achieved at a high level are the driving force for the enterprise to continue implementing operational activities and organizing production effectively in the second quarter of 2025.

"With the difficult geological conditions and fragmented and dispersed production areas, many years ago, this unit always encountered obstacles in completing the economic and technical targets assigned by the Group. This year, to improve production efficiency and to be determined to fully complete the tasks assigned by the Group, Quang Hanh Coal has changed technical measures to shorten the time for transferring the furnaces. Useful time is used to focus on production at furnaces with high output" - Mr. Nguyen Van Sy, Deputy Director of Quang Hanh Coal Company said.

Accordingly, since the beginning of 2025, Quang Hanh Coal has established a workshop to undertake the specific task of converting the area. Instead of the mining units proactively carrying out the conversion work as before, with a duration of 1-3 months, affecting production and output plans; now, this task will be carried out by a specialized unit. Thanks to that, the longwalls in Quang Hanh Coal always maintain a continuous production pace, avoiding interruptions. From there, the plans on output and tunnel meters of the entire company are guaranteed to be completed.

With the spirit of enthusiastic production competition of the units, it is expected that by the end of April, TKV will exploit over 3.7 million tons of coal, an increase of more than 10% compared to the plan; of which, coal delivered to the processing plant will reach over 1.88 million tons. The volume of excavated soil and rock will reach over 15.7 million m3, and the tunnel excavation will reach over 25.4 thousand meters.

To complete the production task in the second quarter of 2025, at the recent meeting of production areas, TKV leaders emphasized a number of key tasks for the units. In addition to maximizing output, the units need to strictly control technical and technological indicators, increase tunnel digging speed, and prepare production areas.

For open-pit units, speed up the progress of mining in the pit area before the rainy season. Drainage works, pit drainage pumping systems and backup systems have been reinforced before the rainy season on April 20.

For underground coal mining units, the most important tasks are ventilation, drainage, mine gas control, detection and prevention of occupational accident risks and incidents. Units strive to fully complete the plan targets for April and Quarter II/2025; in the first 6 months of the year, the completion rate reached over 50% of the annual plan.
