Speaking at the program, journalist Do Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper said that through this contest, the Organizing Committee hopes to help children gain more knowledge and skills on drowning prevention and control for children, thereby helping students to identify and avoid the risks of drowning.
The contest “Drowning - Prevention steps” is held from May 10 to July 10. This is a meaningful playground for children from 4 to 15 years old nationwide, aiming to promote and raise awareness about preventing drowning accidents - one of the leading causes of death in children in Vietnam.

The contest encourages children to express their creativity through drawings and video clips with messages of safety and drowning prevention skills. In just 2 months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received nearly 700 paintings and more than 100 videos from all over the country. The works show elaborate investment, unique expression and reflect students' increasingly clear awareness of survival skills in the aquatic environment.
At the ceremony, 50 awards were presented to outstanding works, including the categories: Special, First, Second, Third and Encouragement, in both painting and video clip categories. The awards are not only recognition, but also a source of encouragement for children to continue nurturing their passion for creativity, and most of all, to raise public awareness of child safety.
Through the contest and the Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to spreading the message "Preventing drowning - Protecting life", thereby creating positive changes in the work of preventing drowning for children in Vietnam.
