On the afternoon of December 3, at the French Embassy, Mr. Olivier Brochet - Ambassador of the Republic of France to Vietnam, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of France, awarded the Knight of the Academic Palms medal to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Chief Specialist of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training .

The Knight of the Academic Palms Medal is one of the noble awards of the French Government established in the early 19th century, under Napoleon I, to honor individuals with great contributions in the fields ofeducation , science, culture and arts.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Olivier Brochet expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien's contributions to the cooperative relationship between the two countries, especially in the field of culture and education. The Ambassador hoped and believed that in the coming time, she would have more contributions and cooperation in the relationship between the two countries, especially in teaching and spreading the spirit of learning French in Vietnam.

Graduated from the French major - University of Foreign Languages and Education (now the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien has worked for 17 years as a core French teacher at several secondary schools in Hanoi. She has a Master's degree in French linguistics - University of Rouen, France.
Currently, as a Senior Specialist of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training in charge of managing the French general education program, she has been making positive contributions to promoting and developing French language teaching in Vietnam. She has participated in and organized many training courses to improve French language skills and competence in Vietnam and France; coordinated with French-speaking partners such as the French Embassy, AUF, OIF, etc. Participated in compiling and reviewing many pedagogical documents and French textbooks; organized cultural activities and competitions in French to improve and develop French in Vietnam.

Moved to receive the medal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien expressed her gratitude to the Government of the French Republic and the French Embassy in Vietnam for recognizing her contributions to French language education in Vietnam as well as to the development of friendly diplomatic relations between the two countries. She also expressed her sincere gratitude to Ambassador Olivier Brochet, as well as to all relatives, friends and colleagues who have supported and trusted her throughout the journey.
In the coming time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien affirmed that she will make more efforts to promote French language teaching in Vietnam, strengthen connections, and continuously develop the good relationship between the two countries.
