Giving gifts to Agent Orange victims, disabled people, and people in difficult circumstances in Soc Trang city

STO - On June 4, at Vinh Hung Pagoda (Soc Trang City), the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Soc Trang Province organized a gift giving ceremony for victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities, and people in difficult circumstances in Soc Trang City. Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Hung - Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Soc Trang Province.

The Association presented 60 gifts, each consisting of rice and a box of instant noodles, estimated to be worth about 300,000 VND each. It is known that these gifts were supported by the Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, which mobilized donors in Thoi Lai District, Can Tho City. The gift giving is to share some of the difficulties of Agent Orange victims, people with disabilities, and people in difficult circumstances.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and grassroots associations have actively mobilized direct and indirect resources from organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to support and help victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities, and the poor. The total cost of implementing activities is over 9.2 billion VND, including support for repairing and building 7 new houses, building 8 rural bridges; medical examination and medicine for nearly 2,300 people; 29 wheelchairs, rocking chairs; 72 scholarships; support for raising 54 victims at home; support families of Agent Orange victims with over 8.5 tons of rice... Thereby, somewhat alleviating the pain of Agent Orange and promptly encouraging those in need of support to continue to strive to rise up.
