Tri Ton fosters professional skills in grassroots mediation work

On May 8, the Tri Ton District Justice Department coordinated with the An Giang Provincial Department of Justice to train and foster professional skills in grassroots mediation work in 2025. Over 100 delegates, including judicial and civil status officials from communes and towns; team leaders and deputy team leaders of 77 mediation teams... attended.

Delegates listened to the report of the Department of Justice providing information on grassroots mediation; the Law on Grassroots Mediation and documents guiding its implementation; the role, principles, scope, order of steps and basic skills in mediation in the fields of civil law, marriage and family law, land, construction and environmental protection; and experiences of some typical mediation cases. The training course also provided time for delegates to exchange and discuss some situations, difficulties and obstacles in mediation activities.

The training course helps the team of officers in charge of mediation work to improve their legal knowledge, master the skills and expertise in performing mediation work at the grassroots level; promote the role of mediators in analyzing situations, resolving conflicts and small disputes. Thereby, contributing to maintaining neighborhood solidarity and internal solidarity among the people; preventing and limiting violations of the law, protecting security and order in residential areas. This is also an opportunity for members of the mediation team to meet, exchange, learn experiences in handling specific situations, and flexibly apply them in practice.
