Long Xuyen Eye Hospital meets standards and conditions to deploy electronic medical records

On the afternoon of May 29, Dr. CKII Doan Thanh Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, Chairman of the Professional Council chaired the assessment session on the implementation of electronic medical records at Long Xuyen Eye Hospital, to decide on the use and storage of electronic medical records to replace paper medical records, storage and transmission of medical images instead of printing films, and storage of test information instead of printing paper.

In recent times, with the active support from the software provider Leopard Solutions Joint Stock Company, the hospital has made efforts to implement many key tasks to implement electronic medical records: Reviewing professional processes, standardizing data, training staff, testing software in real conditions... achieving many remarkable results.

The Council visited the actual examination process at the departments and rooms of Long Xuyen Eye Hospital; inspected and evaluated to review the progress and quality of implementation, gave comments, completed and improved the effectiveness of using the electronic medical record system at the unit; evaluated the results of implementing the software according to Circular 54/2017/TT-BYT, Circular 46/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health . As a result of the evaluation, the Council unanimously assessed that Long Xuyen Eye Hospital met the standards for implementing electronic medical records.

Concluding the appraisal session, Dr. Doan Thanh Hung congratulated and highly appreciated Long Xuyen Eye Hospital as the second private hospital in the province among the five private hospitals interested in investing in the implementation of electronic medical records, together with the health sector implementing major policies on digital transformation and reforming administrative procedures in the health sector. Thereby, it is recommended that the hospital continue to complete the criteria and documents according to the council's comments and note that the process of implementing electronic medical records must ensure the safety and confidentiality of medical records information...
