Leaders of Hue City People's Committee and the Swiss - Vietnam Economic Forum signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.

The event was co-organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam and the Swiss-Vietnam Economic Forum (SVEF), aiming to expand economic cooperation, investment and innovation between Vietnam and Switzerland in particular and the European region in general.

The working delegation of Hue City led by Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, along with representatives of relevant departments and branches attended the forum.

Within the framework of the event, on the evening of November 4, leaders of the Hue City People's Committee and the Swiss-Vietnam Economic Forum (SVEF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, education, cultural exchange and other fields suitable to the needs of both sides.

According to the signed content, the two sides will establish and strengthen a sustainable and effective cooperative relationship; support each other in expanding cooperation between Hue city and Swiss partners, especially states, cities, economic organizations and academic institutions of Switzerland. At the same time, promote and coordinate the organization of events and activities within the framework of SVEF in Hue city and other localities in Vietnam; promote opportunities for direct investment cooperation, bilateral trade and business connection between Hue and Switzerland.

Key areas of cooperation include: Supporting connections and consulting cooperation with states, cities and potential partners in Switzerland in the fields of innovation (smart cities, creative startups), education, tourism promotion, culture; coordinating the organization of conferences, seminars, economic forums, investment promotion programs, cultural - educational exchanges and academic exchanges between the two countries in Hue city. In addition, the two sides will promote cooperation in training, developing high-quality human resources, implementing scholarship programs, exchanging students and lecturers and sharing information and experiences in areas of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the forum, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh had discussions with representatives of domestic and foreign businesses and experts on cooperation in smart urban technology, creative startups, education, tourism promotion, culture and development of high-quality human resources.

Hue city's participation and signing of cooperation at the Swiss-Vietnam Economic Forum 2025 not only contributes to enhancing Hue's position on the map of innovation and sustainable development, but also opens up new international cooperation opportunities, in line with the city's orientation of developing a heritage, cultural, ecological, smart and modern urban area.
