Deploying solutions to prevent smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods

(CT) - On May 28, the Steering Committee for prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods of Can Tho City (Steering Committee 389/TP) held a meeting to implement Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation (Directive No. 13/CT-TTg); Official Dispatch No. 72/CD-TTg dated May 24, 2025 of the Prime Minister on continuing to promote the peak of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights (Order No. 72/CD-TTg) and announcing Decision No. 1261/QD-UBND dated May 21, 2025 of the Chairman of the City People's Committee on the consolidation of Steering Committee 389/TP.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified the achieved results; proposed solutions to implement the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien requested units to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade , and the Chairman of the City People's Committee in the work of preventing and combating trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien requested that all levels of government and functional agencies mobilize the entire political system to join hands, deploy synchronously, proactively grasp the situation, detect, promptly prevent and handle acts of producing and trading fake milk, fake medicine, fake health protection food in the city. Members of the Steering Committee 389/TP urgently review, advise, and complete regulations to enhance the responsibility and management efficiency of relevant agencies and local authorities in decentralizing food safety management in the city to ensure that it is suitable to practical conditions and situations, in accordance with current legal regulations and does not disrupt state management work.
