Implementing climate change adaptation plan

The plan aims to reduce vulnerability and risks to the negative impacts of climate change, through enhancing the resilience and adaptive capacity of natural, economic and social systems, minimizing losses and damages caused by climate change, promoting the integration of climate change adaptation into the province's strategies and planning; building Khanh Hoa province into a green, clean, beautiful coastal province with sustainable economic development, people living in safety, prosperity and harmony with the natural environment.

The plan of the Provincial People's Committee to implement groups of solutions includes: Strengthening capacity and policy institutions, promoting coordination and participation of departments and branches in the province; strengthening scientific research, information exchange and implementing basic contents of strategies and policies on climate change, building a hydrological and climate change database system of the province to ensure consistency, effectively serving the state management of hydrometeorology and climate change adaptation in the province. At the same time, proactively strengthening connections with central ministries and branches to mobilize funding sources to implement projects on climate change, promoting human resource training; having plans to approach and effectively use international funding sources in issues related to climate change, technology transfer and human resource enhancement, etc.

The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Department of Agriculture and Environment to be the focal agency, organizing, monitoring, reporting, and evaluating the implementation of the plan in the province; advising the Provincial People's Committee to direct, coordinate, monitor, and urge departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to implement programs, projects, and tasks according to the plan. The People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities develop action plans to respond to climate change for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 of the locality to organize implementation to ensure quality and efficiency....
