This is an outstanding, annual cultural event organized by the Da Nang Museum every November to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23. The event is also part of a series of cultural activities and festivals on both banks of the Han River issued by the Da Nang City People's Committee.
Within the framework of the event, there is an exhibition called “Village Stories” with more than 60 photos telling about the beginning of communal houses in Da Nang in the historical flow along with intangible cultural heritages associated with each communal house, arranged according to districts in the city.
The exhibition “ Street Stories” includes 30 sketches, recreating a part of the urban picture of Da Nang during the French colonial period, helping viewers visualize more clearly the unforgettable memories of a period when “Da Nang’s concession citizens” were influenced by the West.
The exhibition “Soul of the City” includes the finalists of the competition to model typical architectural works in Da Nang city, helping the public understand the relics and architectural works in a more vivid and multi-dimensional way.
In addition to the main exhibitions, the festival also displays a number of handmade souvenir products, including models made of bamboo and wooden toothpicks of Da Nang's prominent architectural works such as Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Hue Intersection Overpass, Hai Chau Communal House, Hai Van Quan, Da Nang City Administrative Center, Hoang Sa Exhibition House... made by the disadvantaged community.
On this occasion, Da Nang Museum coordinated with the Da Nang Museum Cultural Heritage Association and a number of private collectors to organize the program "Da Thanh Antiques Fair" to display, introduce and exchange objects that evoke old memories such as: ancient ceramics, bronze objects, worship objects; coins, paper money from the years before the renovation; American oil lamps, French crystal lamps, fans, glasses, teapots, clocks, vases, betel boxes, old books... and other items left over from the subsidy period.
