In his opening speech, Mr. Daniel Stork - Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City - gave an example of climate change from the phenomenon of dense fog in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of February 19, and then unseasonal rain in the afternoon. "Vietnam and the Netherlands have in common that the two countries are strongly affected by the impact of climate change. With Thu Duc City in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general, we have had important cooperation in this field with Rotterdam City in the Netherlands. These are not exciting photos to look at, but rather sad photos, clearly showing the devastating truths caused by the impact of climate change. Therefore, we think organizing events like this is very important to raise awareness in the community, especially among young people. I am very happy that so many young people are here," Mr. Daniel Stork shared.

Thai photographer Jittrapon Kaicome brings to the exhibition his work Burning Cornfields. According to the photographer, burning corn stubble during cultivation produces a large amount of emissions equivalent to forest fires. This farming activity not only poses a health risk to the community but also contributes significantly to the effects of climate change as burning fields releases large amounts of carbon dioxide. In addition, clearing land for corn cultivation leads to serious deforestation.

Images from the work Parallel Worlds by Thai author Satita Taratis. In the land where people used to live, people could catch shrimps and crabs with their bare hands. But now, the fertile land is no longer there, all swallowed up as a result of human impact. Human civilization has created irreversible impacts on the Chao Phraya River on a large scale. Through the series of photos, the author raises the question: "Climate change, if we cannot see or see it right before our eyes, can we feel its strong impacts on our lives?"
