
Currently, Ta Danh Agricultural Cooperative has successfully produced many products from mushrooms.
Closed, circular production
Ms. Nuong said that the cooperative uses agricultural by-products such as straw, rice bran, corn bran, mixed to make spawn, inoculate spawn to create growing media for termite mushrooms, abalone, cordyceps, large-eared lingzhi and other crops. “After harvesting mushrooms, by-products and mushroom spawn are used as food for earthworms, creating organic fertilizer and continuing to fertilize rice and corn plants. After that, the tree trunks are used to make mushroom spawn, creating a closed cycle, no waste, no environmental pollution, and clean, nutritious mushroom products to serve consumers,” Ms. Nuong informed.
In the early days of implementing the model, Ms. Nuong encountered many difficulties. Many batches of mushrooms were damaged due to climate conditions, techniques, and limited investment capital. However, with the spirit of not being afraid of difficulties, determination to overcome difficulties; support from local authorities, Farmers' Associations at all levels and experts in the agricultural sector, Ms. Nuong gradually improved her techniques, invested in production facilities and applied science to the mushroom growing process.
Up to now, Ta Danh Agricultural Cooperative has successfully produced many types of mushrooms with high economic value. In addition to fresh mushrooms, the Cooperative also processes them deeply thanks to high-tech equipment such as freeze-dried black termite mushrooms, sold fresh, used to make floss, snacks. Dried cordyceps mushrooms, used to make tea, soaked in wine, soaked in honey. Ganoderma mushrooms are ground to make instant tea, soaked in wine, dried. Abalone mushrooms and straw mushrooms are sold fresh, processed into snacks...
More jobs for rural workers
The products of Ta Danh Agricultural Cooperative all meet the provincial 3-star OCOP standard. Consumption is always focused on, the products are distributed in supermarkets, restaurants in the province and wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City; e-commerce platforms, bringing products across the country. "Every day, the Cooperative supplies the market with an average of 50-60kg of termite mushrooms, along with many other products, providing nearly 20 tons of various products each year. With a selling price ranging from 200,000-250,000 VND/kg, the annual revenue is billions of VND", Ms. Nuong shared.
The pride of the cooperative is not only the economic value, but also the community and human values that the model brings. The cooperative has created stable jobs for 60 local workers, including many women and young Khmer people. On average, each worker earns from 6-9 million VND/month, contributing to ensuring local social security.
The model of Ta Danh Agricultural Cooperative is increasingly reaping success. In 2023, the Cooperative won the “Top 10 Best Enterprises” award in the Vietnam ESG Initiative Competition; First prize in the “Search for initiatives to increase women’s economic empowerment in the rice chain” competition, organized by the Project “Enhancing gender equality and responsible agricultural business investment in Southeast Asia - Phase 2”.
Ms. Chau Thi Nuong herself was honored to receive the title of Excellent Farmer in Production and Business at all levels for many consecutive years. Ms. Nuong was also awarded a certificate of merit and the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" by the Vietnam Farmers' Association in 2025, and represented members and farmers of An Giang province to attend the program "Pride of Vietnamese Farmers" in Hanoi in October 2025.
