North Korea fired 21 cannon shots to welcome General Secretary To Lam

The two leaders moved to the line of officials and introduced officials from both countries, then walked up to the podium.

The military band played the national anthems of the two countries, accompanied by a 21-gun salute to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese delegation.

On both sides of the stands were the words "Warm welcome to Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam " and "Long live the solidarity and friendship between the people of Korea and Vietnam".

In the stands, thousands of people happily waved the flags of the two countries and shouted to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese delegation.

General Secretary and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un invited General Secretary To Lam to review the honor guard. After reviewing the honor guard, the two leaders returned to the honor stand to watch the parade and end the welcoming ceremony.

75 years ago, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea officially established diplomatic relations.

Since then, the traditional friendship has always been valued by the two Parties, two States and peoples, and has been constantly consolidated and developed. The two sides have maintained mutual support and assistance in the cause of national liberation and socialist construction in each country.

Vietnamese Ambassador to North Korea Le Ba Vinh said that within the framework of the visit, key leaders of the two Parties and two countries will have in-depth discussions and identify major directions and measures to promote the effective and substantive development of bilateral relations, in line with the interests and aspirations of the two peoples, in accordance with relevant regulations, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
