According to the initial investigation, at around 4:00 p.m. on May 11, Nguyen Thi T. (born in 1981, residing in My Long ward) parked her motorbike with license plate 67B1-028.50 on the sidewalk in front of her house in group 1 (My Long ward) but did not take the key from the motorbike. At this time, T. was cleaning the shop inside. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a motorbike engine starting, so she went out to see and saw Khanh driving his motorbike away. T. immediately shouted and chased after him but could not catch up.

After the incident, T.'s husband quickly went to My Long Ward Police to report. After receiving the information, My Long Ward Police reported to the Criminal Police Department (Provincial Police) to coordinate and support the settlement. At about 9:20 p.m. the same day, the Criminal Police Department's working group discovered Khanh driving the above motorbike in the My Phuoc market area (My Phuoc Ward, Long Xuyen City) with suspicious signs, so they conducted an administrative inspection.

Upon inspection, Khanh was unable to present the vehicle registration certificate and identification papers. Accordingly, Khanh confessed that the motorbike had just been stolen in My Long ward, so the force escorted Khanh to My Long ward police station. Khanh had a criminal record but continued to commit crimes.
