Special exhibition "Remembering Uncle Ho's words, Hai Phong

The exhibition features nearly 400 images, documents, and valuable artifacts, many of which are being introduced to the public for the first time, vividly recreating President Ho Chi Minh's deep concern for the Port City in each historical period.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Nga, Director of Hai Phong Museum and Library, the exhibition content is divided into three parts.

The first part, with the theme "Using our strength to liberate ourselves (1888-1955)", depicts the tradition of steadfast struggle of the army and people of Hai Phong city in the resistance war against French colonialism.

Part two, “Hai Phong - The City of Loyalty and Victory (1955-1975)”, introduces the difficult but extremely glorious period of building and defending the Fatherland.

Part three, “Hai Phong - Reaching for heights (1975-2025)”, reflects the city's strong strides in innovation and international integration, especially its outstanding achievements in the fields of economy, society, culture and national defense.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, affirmed: “In the atmosphere of these historic May days, the thematic exhibition will contribute to arousing pride among the city’s people, especially the young generation of Hai Phong. Thereby, adding motivation to successfully implement the city’s development goals in the new era, reaching the regional and world level”.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to Hai Phong. He highly appreciated Hai Phong's strategic position as the "Great Port of Bac Ky" and an important industrial center of the North and the whole country.

During his revolutionary career, President Ho Chi Minh visited the Party Committee, army and people of Hai Phong 9 times, leaving behind many valuable instructions, which were the compass for all actions of the Port City in each historical period.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, emphasized: “The exhibition not only recreates the heroic journey but also affirms the great achievements that Hai Phong has achieved under the leadership of the Party and the guidance of Uncle Ho. This is an opportunity for today's and future generations to review the glorious tradition, at the same time spread pride, foster patriotism, and arouse the desire to contribute to building the homeland.”

Within the framework of the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong 2025, the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho's words" is a meaningful cultural highlight, connecting tradition with modernity, past with future, affirming the pioneering role of Hai Phong city in the journey of national development.
