General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that China always remembers the great contributions of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

On the afternoon of July 20th in Beijing, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China to pay his deepest condolences and sign the condolence book on the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam .
Also attending were Comrade Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; Comrade Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China; Comrade Liu Jianchao, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; and other leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Liaison Department of China.
Earlier, on July 19, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China sent a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Speaking with Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a staunch Marxist and a great leader of the Party and people of Vietnam.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong dedicated his entire life to the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam, leading the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam to promote and achieve great results in the cause of building socialism, and receiving the support and affection of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people of Vietnam.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that China will always remember the great contributions of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting the traditional friendship, "both comrades and brothers," between Vietnam and China.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China firmly supports the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in its unity and leadership of the Vietnamese people on their path of development. The Party, State, and people of China have consistently supported and believed that Vietnam's cause of renovation and socialist construction will achieve even greater successes; and are ready to work together with Vietnam to further deepen and strengthen the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Community of Shared Future.
Ambassador Pham Sao Mai expressed gratitude to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping for visiting the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and offering condolences to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam; and thanked the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for sending a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam as soon as possible, demonstrating the special importance that the Party, State, and people of China, and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping personally, attach to the relationship between the two Parties and two countries, Vietnam and China, as well as the special affection of General Secretary Xi Jinping for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Ambassador emphasized that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a great intellect and talent of the Vietnamese revolution; a thinker, a cultural figure, and a theoretical banner of the Communist Party of Vietnam; an outstanding disciple who constantly studied and followed the thoughts, ethics, and style of the great President Ho Chi Minh, who dedicated his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation, living his whole life for the country and the people; the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great loss and a source of immeasurable sorrow for the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam.
During his lifetime, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong devoted much affection and dedication, and made many important contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China.

Under the direct guidance and direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary Xi Jinping, the relationship between the two Parties and two countries has made remarkable progress over the past 10 years, becoming a strategically significant community of shared future, receiving the support of the people of both countries.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always consider developing relations with the Party, State, and people of China as a top priority and a strategic choice, expressing his commitment to continue working with the Chinese side to implement the common understanding of the two General Secretaries, and to be ready to work with the Party, State, and people of China to further develop the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a healthy, stable, and sustainable manner according to the "six more" orientation, and to jointly build a strategically significant Vietnam-China Community with a shared future.
On the same day, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning, and members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China: Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi sent wreaths.
The Central Committee, the State Council, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, and several central agencies, organizations, and the city of Beijing also sent wreaths to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
