That was the speech of Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Oanh at the launching ceremony of Bac Giang International Logistics Center. According to Mr. Oanh, in recent years, the province's socio -economic development has made remarkable strides, with the average economic growth rate in the period of 2020-2024 reaching over 14%/year; of which 3 years leading the country; the scale of the economy has risen to 12th place in the country, leading the Northern midland and mountainous region. The system of transport, urban, industrial and social infrastructure has always received attention and synchronous investment from the province; has been and is promoting high efficiency. However, the province's logistics service industry is not commensurate with the potential, advantages and level of socio-economic development as well as the needs of businesses; the logistics system is small-scale and fragmented, leading to high transportation costs and long trading time.

Realizing that this is a bottleneck, the province has focused on directing the promotion of the development of the logistics system; including in the planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 to develop 8 logistics centers with a total area of ​​nearly 500 hectares, 3 inland ports (ICDs), 33 inland waterway ports; identifying logistics as one of the key service industries.

The Bac Giang International Logistics Center Project is a strategic project, affirming the province's strong determination in developing modern logistics infrastructure, promoting trade, industry and deep international integration. The Center was completed and launched today, putting Bac Giang on the map of large-scale logistics centers with modern infrastructure in the Northern region; exploiting the potential and advantages of Bac Giang in developing the service industry considered the "bloodline" of the economy; opening up new growth drivers, enhancing competitiveness, strongly promoting socio-economic development, Mr. Oanh shared.

Bac Giang International Logistics Center is invested in a prime location in Song Khe ward, Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province. The investor is CNCTech Group, in cooperation with DolGroup and the construction unit is Thien An Group, determined to complete each project item and start promoting operational efficiency. The center promises to be a strategic connection point for industrial parks, clusters, and factories in Bac Giang in particular and the northern provinces such as Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong ..., through the national highways, arterial highways to international border gates by road, rail, sea, and international airports. In particular, from here it is convenient to connect major economic centers of the country with the Chinese market, then ASEAN and the world . Due to the importance of the project, in recent years, especially in 2024, Bac Giang province has been determined to closely direct and remove obstacles and difficulties for the project, so that investors can deploy construction items and put them into operation.

Modern and synchronous infrastructure

The center is a strategic product, a spearhead of Logistics in the industrial and logistics infrastructure ecosystem of CNCTech Group. It will provide comprehensive logistics solutions including modern infrastructure systems, integrating a closed, superior logistics service solution chain, to support improving the efficiency and competitiveness of the supply chain; at the same time, affirming the commitment to long-term investment to create a modern logistics ecosystem according to international standards, pioneering green logistics solutions.

The Center has been approved by the Prime Minister as a National Grade II Logistics Center, 67 hectares wide, including a multi-functional warehouse system such as: Customs control warehouse, non-tariff warehouse, e-commerce warehouse, automated warehouse... combined with a complete logistics solution system, cross-chain Hub models launched for the first time in Vietnam (One-stop e-commerce Hub, Central Hub for agricultural products for import and export...)

Big dreams come true

Along with the country's remarkable achievements in recent years, Vietnam's logistics industry has made significant progress. However, according to statistics and assessments, our country's logistics costs still account for about 16-17% of GDP - more than double the global average. This shows that there is a lot of work to be done, from investing in building and upgrading infrastructure, improving technology, to synchronizing supply chain management and developing modern, multifunctional logistics centers.

According to Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the context of global integration, logistics is the lifeblood of the economy. Vietnam, as one of the dynamic countries in ASEAN, is promoting international trade connections through 16 free trade agreements. However, logistics costs are still higher than the regional average... The operation of the Bac Giang International Logistics Center is not only a milestone in the development of Vietnam's logistics industry but also affirms the vision of building a smart, modern logistics ecosystem to meet the trend of global integration.

From the concerns, thoughts, to the cherishing, dreaming, and efforts of young entrepreneurs, the Bac Giang International Logistics Center is one of the practical and strategic results to contribute to changing the bottleneck. From this success, these entrepreneurs are aspiring to build many logistics centers of similar and larger scale in many key provinces and cities across the country, in order to contribute to reducing overall logistics costs, improving the competitiveness of import-export enterprises, attracting foreign investment, especially improving the national supply chain.
