The National Archives Center III (State Records and Archives Department) has just received documents and artifacts of musician An Thuyen and musician Vo Vang - two representative faces of modern Vietnamese music , who were awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts.
The documents presented by the two musicians’ families include manuscripts, memorabilia, photos and composition records. Thereby, they provide a comprehensive view of the two musicians’ creative process, dedication and passion for revolutionary, folk and chamber music.

According to the plan, National Archives Center III will arrange, preserve and digitize these documents to serve the public's needs for research, study and creation, while spreading humanistic values, patriotism and national identity through music.
Both musician An Thuyen and musician Vo Vang are representative musicians of modern Vietnamese music.
Musician An Thuyen was born in 1949 in Quynh Luu, Nghe An province. He is famous for his compositions rich in folk melodies, especially Nghe Tinh folk songs, with profound lyricism. His typical songs: “Ca dao em va toi”, “Neo doi wharf que”, “Dem nghe hat do dua nho Bac”, “ Ha Tinh minh thuong”, “Em chon luong nay”…
In addition, he also composed many plays, film music, instrumental music (such as Concerto for flute and symphony orchestra) and music for about 60 plays, tuong and cheo.
For his contributions to the music industry, he was honored to receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts for the following works: “I chose this path”, “Listening to the boat singing at night, remembering Uncle Ho”, “Marching to the Northwest”, “When tanks passed through the quan ho region”; “Thanh Xuong Drama Nguyen Cong Tru”.
Musician Vo Vang, whose real name is Vu Van Vang, was born in 1952 in Thai Binh province. Musician Vo Vang left behind a rich compositional career, especially in epic, revolutionary and chamber music. Musician Vo Vang is famous for his ability to create large-scale works, rich in emotion and serious in structure.

He has many famous works such as "Mother's Footprints" (violin, cello, piano), "Where the Sun and Moon Meet", choir "Sacred Sea and Sky", "Forever Uncle Ho's Soldiers", children's song "Every Time I Look at Uncle Ho's Photo".
Musician Vo Vang is also one of the authors who participated in composing and directing the massive and magnificent art program celebrating 1,000 years of Thang Long - Hanoi.
In 2022, musician Vo Vang was honored to receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts with the works "Where the Sun and Moon Meet", "Hue Improvisation" and the choir "Sacred Sea and Sky".
