Former President Biden criticized Mr. Trump

(CLO) After a long period of silence, former US President Joe Biden has spoken out to criticize incumbent President Donald Trump.

“I just want you to know that you work for us, Mr. President. We don’t work for you. You work for the people, not just billionaires and millionaires,” Mr. Biden said at a Democratic event in Omaha, Nebraska.

“Frankly, I am very angry. This is a democracy, and in a democracy there are no kings. But you have acted in a way that has brought shame to us as a nation.”

Biden also likened the recent demolition of the East Wing of the White House to the way Trump runs the country. “Did you see what he did to the East Wing? It’s a perfect image of his presidency,” he said, adding that Trump is doing the same to “the Constitution, the rule of law, and American democracy.”

Joe Biden served as US President from 2021 to 2025. He initially intended to run for re-election but withdrew after a poor performance in the debate with Mr. Trump. Then-Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him as the Democratic Party representative in the November 2024 election, but lost to Mr. Trump.

Biden's office confirmed in May that he had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. In September, he underwent surgery to remove a malignant skin tumor, and in October, he completed radiation therapy for prostate cancer.
