Today, May 6, the University of Transport organized a seminar on technical standards for modern railways. In particular, at the seminar, the school introduced the "5-house" linkage model, aiming to gradually localize the entire value chain in modern railway development, contributing to reducing dependence on foreign technology.

According to Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung, Principal of the University of Transport, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently requested "to be faster, bolder; to look far, think deeply, and do big things" when meeting with the Steering Committee for important national railway projects.
However, in reality, there are urban railway projects that have been completed but cannot be put into operation because we lack a system of technical standards and regulations. Therefore, the urgent task now is to complete the system of technical standards and regulations and train high-quality human resources - prerequisites for the effective implementation of key railway projects.
To remove the above bottlenecks, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung introduced the "5-house" cooperation model, replacing the classic "3-house" model of managers, scientists and entrepreneurs. The "2 houses" added include: the technology transfer party (foreign partners with high technological capacity, playing the role of technology transfer, technical consultancy and inspection) and the beneficiaries (specialized ministries, localities, project management boards, operating enterprises).
At the seminar, the University of Transport also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with 4 units, including: Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company No. 1, Truong Hai Group, Phan Vu Investment Joint Stock Company.
The units will cooperate to master strategic technology in designing, manufacturing, testing and standardizing railway vehicle products, especially in the context of Vietnam promoting the development of high-speed railways and urban areas.
The goal is to gradually localize the entire value chain - from technical design to production and inspection - contributing to reducing dependence on foreign technology and improving the competitiveness of domestic products.
