Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) has just announced some new points about the admission plan. In particular, students at 675 high schools will be added 0.8-1 points when registering for admission based on their transcripts in 2025.
Specifically, students from 81 specialized and gifted schools will receive 1 point. Students from 346 priority schools will receive 0.8 points. At the Binh Phuoc branch, the bonus is 0.8 points, applied to all high schools in the province (35 schools) and 213 schools in neighboring provinces.

With the method of considering transcripts, the school uses the average score of 6 high school semesters of 3 subjects according to the combination. The main subject score is doubled and then converted to a 30-point scale using the formula: [(Subject 1 score x 2 + Subject 2 score + Subject 3 score) : 4] x 3.
High school transcript admission score = (Converted high school transcript score + School bonus points) + Priority points.
In addition to extra points for the above schools, candidates with foreign language certificates and national and provincial excellent student awards will also receive 0.5-1.2 extra points when considering high school transcripts.
Along with that, the school announced the entrance score threshold for some specific majors such as: Pedagogy, law, and microchip design engineering training program.
In addition, this school also adjusts the direct admission plan according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and prioritizes admission according to the school's project. National excellent students in information technology are considered for admission to all training programs/majors.
For programs/majors with an aptitude subject in the admission combination according to some methods, the aptitude subject score must be 6 or higher.
Notably, the school also adjusted the enrollment quota in 10 majors in a downward direction compared to the previous plan.

Another special point to note is that the school has removed the D01 admission combination (math, literature, English) when enrolling in the microchip design engineering training program, in the field of electronics and telecommunications engineering technology.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will enroll more than 7,000 students at its Ho Chi Minh City campus and nearly 500 students at its Binh Phuoc branch.
In addition to considering academic records, the school also recruits directly according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; prioritizes admission according to the school's project; considers the 2025 high school graduation exam scores; and the capacity assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
