On the morning of October 22nd, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the research results of the project on training internationally qualified human resources in the field of mechanical engineering and automation.
The project to train internationally qualified human resources in the mechanical engineering and automation sector was commissioned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and developed by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. The project team has completed the project on time and it will be successfully reviewed and approved in March 2025.
According to Dr. Quach Thanh Hai, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the mechanical engineering and automation industry is not only the "backbone" of modern production, but also the foundation for the formation of new industries such as industrial robotics, advanced materials technology, and precision manufacturing.
To develop this field, Ho Chi Minh City needs a team of engineers and experts who possess both a strong theoretical foundation and practical skills and creative thinking on par with international standards. Therefore, Dr. Hai assessed that the development of a project to train internationally qualified human resources in the mechanical engineering and automation sector plays a crucial role in improving the quality of the city's workforce.

Based on the research results of the project, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education will pilot an international program in mechanical engineering and automation. "This is a completely deserved and reasonable choice, demonstrating Ho Chi Minh City's confidence in the academic capacity, prestige, and pioneering role of the university," Dr. Hai assessed.
The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education stated that they will maximize the results of the Project, proactively implement the pilot training model effectively, and contribute to providing Ho Chi Minh City with a high-quality workforce.
Ms. Truong Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee's project to train internationally qualified human resources requires the collaboration of reputable universities, especially those with strengths in research, technology transfer, and training high-quality human resources.
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the results achieved today are the fruit of the research team's continuous efforts, along with the close and decisive guidance from the school's leadership.
The mechanical engineering and automation training program is developed based on the experience of advanced training models, while ensuring suitability to the specific characteristics of engineering training in Vietnam, aiming to improve the quality of human resources in the field of mechanical engineering and automation to international standards.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education enrolled its first cohort in the program, marking an important beginning in its journey to train high-quality human resources for the fields of mechanical engineering and automation.
