Open up opportunities for innovation
The conversion of school types is a step in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education (amended) and the State's policies on innovation and improvement of the organizational and governance model in the Vietnamese higher education system.
Accordingly, the school will continue to operate as a private school, with innovations in management mechanisms and operating models to improve training efficiency and quality.
Established in 1994, the School is one of the first non-public higher education institutions in Vietnam.
After three decades of operation, the School has developed into a multidisciplinary training unit, providing human resources for many fields such as construction engineering, information technology, languages, business administration, finance, accounting, architecture, and a number of other majors.

During its operation, the school has gradually invested in upgrading facilities, expanding training programs and improving the quality of its teaching staff. The school has implemented a number of joint training programs, research cooperation and technology transfer with domestic and foreign organizations.
In the context of Vietnam entering a period of deep integration and strong digital transformation, higher education plays a core role in developing high-quality human resources to serve the country's industrialization and modernization.
The school aims to become a multidisciplinary private university by 2030, meeting national accreditation standards and gradually approaching international standards.
New opportunities and challenges
With the private school model, the school hopes to attract more investment resources, improve teaching and learning conditions, and enhance autonomy in curriculum development, personnel management, and scientific research development.
However, along with that are challenges in maintaining training quality, maintaining reputation and identity, as well as ensuring the rights of learners and teaching staff.

Becoming a private school also opens up great opportunities for students and faculty. Students will have access to more modern training programs, a more dynamic learning environment, and a tighter scholarship - internship - job support system.
Opportunities to participate in international exchange programs, business internships, and start-ups from the classroom will become increasingly abundant.
For lecturers, this is the time when they can maximize their professional capacity, participate in major research projects, and receive support in teaching, academic and career development conditions.
The school will also focus on building a professional, humane working environment that promotes creativity and cooperation.

Development orientation in the next phase
As a private university, Phuong Dong University aims to build a development strategy focusing on three main pillars: improving training quality, expanding domestic and international cooperation, and developing scientific research closely related to social needs.
In the coming time, the school aims to achieve quality accreditation at the educational institution level and training programs, while promoting the application of information technology in management and teaching.
In addition, the school also focuses on expanding new training majors, in line with the trend of digital transformation and sustainable development.
