Immediately following the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, on the afternoon of June 6, the Admissions Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) met and decided to open additional groups C03 (math, literature, history) and C04 (math, literature, geography) for all 28 training majors of the school.
Thus, with 8 admission combinations announced on June 4, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) will consider admission based on 10 combinations.
Create conditions for candidates
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi - USSH Hanoi), affirmed that the school's enrollment information complies with the Ministry of Education and Training 's 2025 university and college enrollment guidelines and the 2025 regular university enrollment guidelines of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
"With the newly adjusted enrollment plan that the school has proposed, candidates taking the 2025 high school entrance exam will be given the best conditions to be able to register for the school entrance exam," said Ms. Huong.
Previously, on June 4, USSH Hanoi announced enrollment information that shocked many high school graduation exam students with the literature - history - geography combination because this year the school only considered 9/28 majors with the C00 combination - a decrease of 17 majors compared to last year.
17 majors that do not consider literature - history - geography include many hot majors of the school such as journalism, psychology, sociology, social work...
Instead, the school considers combinations such as D15 (literature, English, geography), D14 (literature, English, history) and D66 (literature, English, economic and legal education). Thus, candidates who have chosen to take the two elective subjects of history and geography cannot access these combinations.
The school's announcement to remove the combination of literature - history - geography in many majors more than 20 days before the high school graduation exam caused many mixed opinions and confusion among students.
Meanwhile, this year, history and geography are the two elective subjects that most candidates choose to take, with nearly half a million candidates each (equivalent to nearly 50% of candidates choosing to take history and geography). English is the elective subject with the third most candidates taking the exam, with nearly 360,000 candidates.
Must review the admission combination
On June 6, the Ministry of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to universities/academies, requesting them to review and publish enrollment information for university and college levels in preschool education.
The Ministry said that in recent days, the press and candidates have reported that some universities have announced incomplete enrollment information, with some information changing, causing anxiety and passivity among candidates.
To provide complete information on enrollment in 2025, the Ministry requires educational institutions to comply with the Ministry's enrollment regulations and guidelines. The Ministry requires schools to review admission methods and combinations in accordance with the programs, majors, and groups of training majors for each method to ensure fairness and not affect the rights of candidates, especially at the present time when candidates have completed registration for the 2025 high school graduation exam.
The Ministry requires heads of units to be responsible for explaining the contents of training institutions' enrollment information and information related to training institutions' enrollment work that is incomplete and inaccurate.
Announce admission information 30 days in advance
The leaders of USSH Hanoi said that according to the 2025 university admission regulations, schools will announce admission information at least 30 days before opening the first round of registration. This year, candidates will register their university admission wishes from July 16 to July 28.
With this regulation, USSH Hanoi announces admission information 30 days before candidates register for admission, which is in accordance with regulations.
