Cuu Long University awards scholarships to new students worth nearly 4.4 billion VND

On October 9, Cuu Long University held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2023-2024 and awarded scholarships to encourage learning and talent, honoring the valedictorians of the 24th course with a total amount of nearly 4.4 billion VND.

At the ceremony, distinguished teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, Principal of Cuu Long University, said that in the 2023-2024 school year, Cuu Long University will receive 2,235 new students admitted to the first round of the 24th course of 27 training majors; including 44 international students from Laos and Cambodia.

Cuu Long University leaders awarded scholarships to new students

The school organized a ceremony to reward 29 new students who achieved valedictorian status in the 2023 regular university entrance exam. At the same time, full scholarships (100% tuition exemption) were granted to 2 students with extremely difficult circumstances, each worth nearly 80 million VND. 125 scholarships were awarded to new students, of which 29 were for new students who achieved valedictorian status, each worth 2.5 million VND; 4 were for students from families with revolutionary contributions; 49 were for students from ethnic minorities; 43 were for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged new students (each worth 1 million VND). The total amount of funding awarded was more than 300 million VND.

Outstanding freshmen are rewarded

In particular, the school awarded full scholarships (100% tuition exemption) to 44 new international students (34 Lao, 8 Cambodian). Awarded 50% full-course scholarships to 2 new Lao students. The total scholarship cost is nearly 4.4 billion VND.

On this occasion, 33 organizations and individuals contributed a total of nearly 500 million VND to the scholarship fund of Cuu Long University for students with excellent academic achievements.

Over 23 years of construction and development, Cuu Long University has trained and awarded degrees to nearly 30,000 bachelors, engineers and more than 800 masters. According to statistics, the rate of students having jobs after graduation every year is over 95%. Since 2015, the school has cooperated in training human resources for Laos and Cambodia. Currently, Cuu Long University is one of 17 training institutions assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to train, evaluate and grant Vietnamese language certificates to foreigners. Up to now, the school has received and trained more than 500 international students. Currently, there are nearly 200 international students studying at the school.
