According to many accounts, one person in the group is a student at Van Lang University. The accounts shared information about the student's name, student ID, and major, and sent emails asking the school to discipline the student for his inappropriate behavior during the ceremony.
Recent posts on Van Lang University’s fanpage also received tens of thousands of interactions, most of them choosing the angry icon. Most of the comments asked the university to take action against students for being disrespectful to veterans who fought to protect the Fatherland.
On May 1, Van Lang University officially spoke out about the above issue. Accordingly, the school said it had received many messages from teachers, parents, students, and alumni about the incident in which a student of the school acted disrespectfully towards veterans during the event waiting for the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
The school thanks the above timely feedback, and affirms its training philosophy as "training well-rounded people, with ethics, a spirit of lifelong learning, having influence and positive impact, inspiring the community".
The school recognizes the progress and corrects the mistakes of each student on the journey of self-improvement - a journey that is not easy, with the joint education of family, school, and community.

Regarding the recent incident, Van Lang University is coordinating with the Faculty and the Student Affairs Department to promptly verify and ensure that the incident is handled in accordance with the regulations of the Student Affairs Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
"The school does not agree with the substandard behavior of an individual student, which negatively affects the overall positive image of the student community and does not represent Van Lang University," Van Lang University's announcement stated.
