Friendly School – Wings for the future of Nam Po students

The emulation movement “Building friendly schools, active students” has been implemented synchronously in alleducational institutions in Nam Po district. Schools have concretized the movement into five practical contents: building green - clean - beautiful, safe schools and classrooms; innovating teaching methods; training life skills for students; organizing fun and healthy collective activities; and educating traditions through learning about and caring for historical, cultural and revolutionary relics in the locality.

A clean and beautiful school inspires students to love school more.

According to Mr. Ngo Xuan Chien, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Po district, in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole district has 45 schools with over 820 classrooms and more than 22,400 students. The movement is linked to the construction of national standard schools, the socialization of education and comprehensive education goals. Each school actively builds a green - clean - beautiful campus, arranges tables and chairs suitable for the age group and focuses on taking care of trees to create shade in the school yard.

The teaching staff proactively innovates teaching methods to suit the psychological characteristics of students. Teachers not only focus on expertise but also stay close to and listen to the opinions of students and parents to adjust teaching methods, increase interaction and create a friendly learning environment. Outside of class, teachers also organize many useful extracurricular activities to help students develop cooperation skills, teamwork and active learning.

Through the movement, it is a driving force for schools in the district to build national standard schools and improve the quality of education.

Schools in the area also promote educating students about environmental protection, health care, and scientific study and play habits. Students learn about children's rights, gender equality, civic responsibility, and skills to cope with unexpected and stressful situations. Contents of traffic safety education, food hygiene and safety, health education, physical education, and gender are integrated appropriately according to each grade level. At the same time, folk games are also included in collective activities, contributing to creating useful playtimes, helping students become more attached to school.

Friendly schools have been bringing new faces to education in the remote border area of ​​Nam Po.

In particular, the organization of life and care for boarding students at ethnic minority boarding schools (PTDTBT) is focused on. The schools manage well the food, accommodation and activities of students, ensure personal hygiene, boarding areas and implement boarding rules in a systematic and scientific manner. Students are guided to live reasonably and participate in collective activities to practice independence and collective spirit.

The number of schools meeting national standards has increased gradually each school year.
