Vocational schools face many difficulties in enrollment.

According to the Board of Directors of Phu Yen Vocational College, enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is very difficult as the number of 9th grade students this year is too small compared to previous years.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 10,412 9th grade students, 3,431 fewer students than the previous school year. In the 2025-2026 school year, the Provincial People's Committee allows the Education sector to organize admission to grade 10 at public high schools by selection (based on students' learning and training results in junior high school years to convert admission scores), without entrance exams as before (except for Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School). Accordingly, the enrollment target for grade 10 at public high schools approved by the Provincial People's Committee is 10,025 students (enrollment rate of more than 96%).

With about 380 students outside the public grade 10 admission quota, they will choose to continue studying at private high schools or vocational schools. Not only Phu Yen Vocational College is facing difficulties in recruiting students, but other vocational training schools, continuing education centers in the province and even private high schools in the province are also facing similar difficulties.
