International schools with the highest tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City are being asked to pay debts by parents

The incident took place on September 22, when some parents of the school gathered and held banners demanding that the school's Board of Directors, Ms. NTUE, pay the debt. Some parents also said they had submitted a petition to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. According to the reporter's investigation, the incident arose from a conflict in resolving debts related to a loan contract for education investment.

Specifically, many parents who send their children to school are advised that if they lend the school some money, the student will be exempted from tuition fees during the entire period of study at the school. Many parents then sign contracts, some of which are worth up to billions of dong and do not charge interest during the entire period of study at the school. The contract term is calculated from the date the two parties sign the contract until the student completes the course or completes the procedures to stop studying at the school. After the contract ends, the school will refund the entire amount that the parents have lent the school.

However, in many cases, students have graduated from grade 12 and completed their studies at the American International School Vietnam, but the deadline for refunding money according to the contract has not been met, while contacting the representative is very difficult. "We have no choice but to follow this plan so that the responsible people can appear and give parents a satisfactory answer," said a parent.

According to the school's latest announcement, the school admitted that it had signed loan contracts with some parents and had not yet repaid the money, citing the difficult economic situation and requesting an extension of payment. The school representative also said that a specialized department had been established to resolve the debt according to established procedures and mechanisms.

At the same time, the school will establish a financial control board consisting of parents with expertise and experience in financial management to help ensure transparency in the school's financial activities.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the department is aware of the incident and will soon organize a meeting with the school, parents and relevant parties to ensure the highest benefits for students.

American International School Vietnam is one of the international schools with the highest tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City, ranging from 280 to more than 700 million VND per school year, depending on the level of study; this tuition does not include other fees.
