Professor Shimizu Masaaki shared that he was very surprised, touched and honored to be awarded the title of "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizen". The professor sent his sincere thanks to the provincial leaders and people of Ben Tre province for their affection for him as well as the individuals awarded the title of "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizen". According to Professor Shimizu Masaaki, this title is very meaningful to the context and history of Ben Tre in the past and today.

Professor Shimizu Masaaki expressed that no matter which country he is in or what field he works in, he has the opportunity to be attached to Ben Tre. “In Ben Tre, we receive the attention and active support of leaders at all levels, the enthusiastic and responsible companionship of the people to create, maintain and develop activities for the community, for the development of the province. We have this valuable cooperation because we all understand the meaning of the activities, all for the “development” and “sustainable development” of Ben Tre” - Professor Shimizu Masaaki said.

Professor Shimizu Masaaki recounted that since his first visit to Ben Tre in 1993, he gradually became attached to the land and people here because of its unique cultural values. That was the attraction, urging him to explore and experience with the people of the Coconut Land to understand and together build a cultural bridge, contributing to building the friendship between Japan - Vietnam in general and Japan - Ben Tre in particular. Today, Ben Tre province has given him the great honor of becoming an Honorary Citizen of Dong Khoi, he realizes that in the future, there will be more work to do to promote and introduce Ben Tre culture to the world .

* Mr. Pham Huu Thua - Former Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - Former Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers (TNXP) of Ben Tre province - Awarded the title "Outstanding Dong Khoi Citizen": "To live is to contribute".

Mr. Pham Huu Thua shared his joy on the day he received the title of Outstanding Citizen of Dong Khoi.

Mr. Pham Huu Thua is also affectionately called "Uncle Hai Thua" by the younger generation and everyone. He shared that he came from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, where he was trained and nurtured a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm and determination to contribute to the revolutionary cause. From the early days of participating in the Youth Union during the resistance war, to being assigned the important responsibility of Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, and later continuing to accompany the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Ben Tre province, until his retirement, he always told himself: No matter what position I am in, I must live and work in a way that is worthy of the glorious tradition of my homeland Dong Khoi.

Mr. Pham Huu Thua confided that, although he has retired, he still continues to participate in Party activities at the Provincial Youth Union Party Cell, where he has the opportunity to be close to, share with and inspire the younger generation. And he always keeps in mind that: "As long as you live, you will contribute". When he received the title of "Outstanding Dong Khoi Citizen", he was extremely moved and proud. For him, this is not only a personal honor, but also a common pride of those who have dedicated their youth and lives to the heroic homeland of Dong Khoi.

In his emotion, Mr. Pham Huu Thua expressed his deep gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, especially the Provincial Youth Union and the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Ben Tre province for always accompanying, encouraging and recognizing his contributions throughout his working and dedication. According to him, it is not only a recognition but also a great responsibility. "I promise to continue to promote the Dong Khoi spirit, be a shining example in all activities, and constantly spread the good values ​​of the Dong Khoi revolutionary movement to the young generation today and tomorrow" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Thua affirmed.

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Ben Tre Province's founding (January 1, 1900 - January 1, 2025), the 65th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi Day (January 17, 1960 - January 17, 2025) and especially Ben Tre receiving the Prime Minister's Decision to recognize January 17 as the province's traditional day, we, the youth of Ben Tre, feel very proud. Because this is a recognition of a process in which the Party Committee, government and people of Ben Tre have strived to develop and promote the tradition of Ben Tre Dong Khoi homeland through many generations and many terms.

Through the call of the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the ceremony, we clearly see our responsibility in nurturing the desire to contribute to the young generation, and through the desire, we must foster in you the motivation to continue to practice and strive. Especially, in the era of national development, it is very necessary for young people to grasp science and technology, to be pioneers in digital transformation, pioneers in innovation and creativity... to be able to meet the development goals of the province at a high level with many expectations, realizing a brilliant Ben Tre development in the future.

* Ms. Vo Thi Hao - Vietnamese Canadian - hometown Huong My commune, Mo Cay Nam district - the person awarded the title "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizen": "Happy to be able to contribute to accompany and support difficult circumstances in my homeland".

At the age of 84, Ms. Vo Thi Hao has participated in volunteer work in many places for more than 20 years, especially towards her hometown Ben Tre - where she was born and raised. Ms. Hao said that this visit to her hometown is very meaningful, when Ben Tre province awarded her the noble title "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizen", she was very happy and excited. Because for her, it is the recognition of the provincial leaders and the people of Ben Tre for her and the individuals who were honored, she really appreciates that sentiment, as well as being honored to receive this title.

Many years ago, Ms. Vo Thi Hao participated in sponsoring the Association for the Promotion of Education of Huong My Commune (Mo Cay Nam District) to help many disadvantaged students continue their journey to school and build their future. She said that when she was able to help the students - the children of her hometown - she was very happy and used that as motivation to continue her volunteer activities. After that, she accompanied the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of the province.

According to Ms. Hao, Ben Tre has made remarkable progress in many areas compared to many years ago, however, there are still some difficult situations, so in addition to the attention and policies of the state, it is also necessary to have the sharing of the community and benefactors to accompany the province to help the people of Ben Tre develop better. She herself is now old, however, her volunteer journey is still going on and will continue through her daughter, continuing to turn to Ben Tre with all her love and affection, because Ben Tre is the land in her heart.

* Ms. Vo Thi Du - residing in Dinh Hung hamlet, Dinh Thuy commune, Mo Cay Nam district - a witness who participated in the "Long-haired Army" in the past: "Remembering the tradition of Dong Khoi Ben Tre, I am even more proud of my homeland Ben Tre".

Attending the ceremony to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Ben Tre province's founding and the 65th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi Day, Ms. Vo Thi Du expressed her joy when the provincial and local leaders, especially the Provincial Women's Union, supported and created conditions for her and the women in the "Long-haired Army" force in the past to attend the ceremony.

Ms. Du said that through the ceremony, reminding her of the Ben Tre Dong Khoi tradition, she felt even more proud of her hometown Ben Tre, proud that she and her sisters had lived and devoted themselves to the revolution during the period of fighting for independence. At the same time, this was also an opportunity for the aunts to meet and greet each other, shake hands and recall memories of the resistance war. Returning to normal life, the aunts also continued to preserve the revolutionary tradition, being a shining example to teach their children and grandchildren about love for their homeland and country, actively contributing to the development of the locality.

Ms. Du also expressed her hope that the younger generations will continue to preserve and promote the revolutionary tradition of her homeland Dong Khoi Ben Tre, protect independence and build Ben Tre to develop further.
