On November 1, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province announced that the plan for "Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023" will take place from November 11 to November 19 with many unique cultural events and activities and attractive experiences, held in Pleiku city and some localities in Gia Lai province.
Specifically, the opening ceremony of Gia Lai Culture-Tourism Week 2023 will take place in the center of Pleiku city on November 11. At this ceremony, Gia Lai province will receive the Certificate of ranking as a special national monument of Roc Tung-Go Da and announce the National Treasure of the An Khe Paleolithic Tool Collection.
The highlight of this series of activities is the Gia Lai Gong Culture Festival, held continuously for two days (November 11 and 12) at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku city with the participation of art troupes from provinces such as Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong and districts, towns and cities in Gia Lai province.
Also at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku city will host a Trade Fair and introduce typical agricultural products of Gia Lai province. This trade fair will be held for 5 days (from November 11 to 15) with 200-250 standard booths to display, exhibit, and introduce handicrafts, fine arts, cultural products, agriculture, cuisine, tourism, and general products...
Within the framework of this Culture - Tourism Week, localities in the province also organized many response activities, including: Wild Sunflower - Chu Dang Ya Volcano Week (focus from November 10 to November 12) in Ia Gri village, Chu Dang Ya commune and some other locations in Chu Dang Ya commune and Nghia Hung commune (Chu Pah district).

"Gia Lai City trail 2023 - Dream of the Great Forest" running race combined with Pleiku City Culture - Tourism Week (from November 17 to November 19) at Bien Ho scenic relic site, Chu Dang Ya commune volcano area and Anh Hung Nup street (Pleiku city).
Dugout canoe racing festival on Po Co river for A Sanh Cup and Gong Culture Festival of Ia Grai district (from November 16 to November 18) in Dang village, Ia O commune, Ia Grai district.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023 is organized to introduce and promote the unique and attractive cultural values, outstanding values of the province's tourism resources. In particular, it is to recreate the Central Highlands gong cultural space in the spirit of the Action Program to restore, preserve and promote the value of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, in compliance with the contents of the commitments between Vietnam and UNESCO as well as other world cultural and educational organizations.
"This is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the potential and strengths, especially the traditional cultural beauty of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. In addition, through these activities, Gia Lai province is also a way to introduce and promote the potential and strengths of the province and policies to attract investment in Gia Lai province; continue to promote the typical products of Gia Lai province formed through the process of building new rural areas, economic development and international integration...", Ms. Lich informed.
Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023 attracts about 1,000 artisans from inside and outside the province to participate. Most of the artisans are ethnic minorities living in the Central Highlands. They come to the festival with unique cultural values to promote their unique beauty and customs.
