On the afternoon of January 11, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai organized the Homeland Spring program to welcome the Year of the Snake 2025.
For many years, the community Tet organized by the Consulate General has become a traditional activity, an occasion for the Vietnamese community in Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang to eagerly look forward to every time Tet comes.
This year's meeting brought together more than 250 representatives of overseas Vietnamese, Vietnamese people living, working and studying in the East China region.

In his New Year greetings to the community, Vietnamese Consul General in Shanghai Nguyen The Tung happily announced the important achievements that Vietnam has achieved in 2024; emphasizing that the country continues to gain many important achievements in all fields; political stability, security and national defense are maintained, socio-economy maintains a high recovery trend, and people's lives are constantly improved.
Over the past year, many new strategic and breakthrough policies have been implemented, especially the message of General Secretary To Lam about the new era - the era of national development; the arrangement of the political system's apparatus has received the attention, consensus, high will and determination of both the political system and the people.
Vietnam has achieved and exceeded all 15/15 socio -economic targets, with the economic growth rate for the whole year exceeding the set target, reaching over 7%, and import-export turnover reaching a record of over 810 billion USD. Foreign affairs and international integration continue to be bright spots, contributing to defending the country early and from afar and creating a peaceful, cooperative, and developing environment, enhancing the country's position and prestige, in which the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership continues to develop positively and achieve many historic results.

Affirming that the Vietnamese community abroad in general and the Vietnamese community in China in particular are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, Consul General Nguyen The Tung hopes that the Vietnamese community in the East China Sea region will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, mutual love, and join hands to build a closely-knit community; take many specific actions to contribute to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people, bringing the country into a new era, an era of national growth, as well as promoting the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China to continuously develop to new heights.

On behalf of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the East China region, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, an overseas Vietnamese in Shanghai, was moved to express her joy at participating in this meaningful activity, sharing the outstanding achievements of the Vietnamese community in the past year; expressing her joy and pride in the great achievements Vietnam has made.
Thanking the active support of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai and Vietnamese agencies in supporting and facilitating Vietnamese people living, working, studying, as well as supporting the business community to expand the market and develop in China, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van promised to continue to promote national pride and the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and join hands to build the Vietnamese community in Shanghai and the East China region to become stronger and more closely connected, to promote intelligence and resources, and to contribute to the cause of national construction and development.

The activities took place in a warm atmosphere of homeland love, with activities such as wrapping Chung cakes, making Dong Ho paintings, performing arts and enjoying traditional Tet dishes, making everyone feel warm, happy and emotional.
Vietnamese families living far from home happily met again, sharing about the past year and their plans for the new year. The meeting ended with lively spring songs to greet the new year of At Ty 2025 with the best wishes to each other and to the beloved Vietnam.
