This is a meaningful program deployed simultaneously by the Central Youth Union nationwide. In which, Dak Lak is one of 8 branch points (along with Quang Tri, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Long An, Dong Thap) broadcasting directly from the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (organized at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery).

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen Thanh Tung.
On the Dak Lak side, there were Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Tran Doan Toi, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, unions and more than 2,000 union members and youth.

During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, millions of cadres and soldiers sacrificed for the Fatherland. Among them, Dak Lak is proud to be a heroic land, where countless generations of people did not spare their blood and bones, did not fear hardships, directly fought, built a solid rear base, supplied food and ammunition to the battlefield, sheltered and protected revolutionary cadres. Countless people have fallen into the bosom of the motherland, countless people have forever carried wounds in their bodies.

The provincial Martyrs' Cemetery is currently the resting place of 2,376 soldiers and martyrs who fought and heroically sacrificed for the nation's independence and freedom and noble international duty.
The war has been over for 50 years, the scars of war have been gradually healed, life is changing day by day, our country is on the path of development.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the youth of the whole province, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union H Giang Nie expressed his respect, remembrance and deep gratitude for the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the heroes, martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and families with meritorious services to the revolution who contributed to the cause of fighting for independence.

He affirmed that the fresh flowers, fragrant incense sticks, and warm candles of the youth offered to the uncles, aunts, and brothers and sisters on this occasion are a determined promise of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the youth of Dak Lak to continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of the heroic Vietnamese people; vowing to continuously work, train, and devote themselves to the cause of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization, as the wish of the previous generation who once took up arms to fight and protect the Fatherland.

After the ceremony, delegates, union members and youth respectfully offered flowers, incense and lit candles at all martyrs' graves to commemorate the merits and express their respect and gratitude for the noble sacrifices of the heroes who fell for the cause of national liberation.

The program “Lighting candles in gratitude” on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification aims toeducate the revolutionary tradition, patriotism, national pride, and responsibility of the youth in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, promote the moral tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” of the young generation towards the generation of fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. Thereby, all levels and sectors join hands to take care of the families of war invalids, martyrs, and families with meritorious services to the revolution in the area.
