Tan An City Youth Union implemented the model of Filial Son, visited and gave gifts to Mr. Hoang Van Hien (Ward 4, Tan An City) - a Dien Bien soldier who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Responding to the call of Prime Minister - Pham Minh Chinh for the whole country to turn to heroic Dien Bien on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Youth Union Council launched and carried out the campaign "Sending love to Dien Bien" (abbreviated as the Campaign). Over the period of implementation, the Campaign achieved positive results, contributing to beautifying the tradition of "The whole leaves cover the torn leaves" of the nation.
The campaign will be implemented in the 2023-2024 school year, with a peak in April 2024. The scope of implementation is wide, reaching all team members and primary and secondary school students in the province. Each team member and student contributes 1,000 VND. Although the amount is small, it has great significance, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, sharing and responsibility of the young generation towards students facing housing difficulties in Dien Bien province.
In recent times, the District, Town and City Youth Unions have coordinated with the Youth Union Councils of units to disseminate information to team members, students and parents about the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the purpose and practical significance of the movement; at the same time, they have directed the school teams to organize the movement at the flag-raising meeting at the beginning of the week. Over the implementation period, the movement has received enthusiastic responses from team members and students throughout the province. Accordingly, thousands of students throughout the province have participated in contributing and supporting funds with an amount of more than 198 million VND, contributing to sharing the difficulties and hardships of Dien Bien students, helping them have a warm home to study and live in peace.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council - Pham Van Hau shared: The movement is not only a practical activity to help students in difficult circumstances but also a meaningfuleducational lesson about compassion, solidarity and responsibility of the young generation of Long An. Through the movement, students are nurtured with national pride and the glorious historical traditions of their homeland and country.
In Tan An City, in addition to implementing the Campaign, the City Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of the City - Tan An City Pioneers Council also implemented the model of Filial Son, visiting and giving gifts to Mr. Hoang Van Hien (born in 1935) - a Dien Bien soldier who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Students contribute funds to the campaign "Send love to Dien Bien"
Mr. Hoang Van Hien is from Trang Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, and resides in Binh Quan 2 quarter, ward 4, Tan An city. Although 70 years have passed, the pride in the resounding Dien Bien Phu victory still burns brightly in his heart. During the meeting, he shared heroic stories about the years of arduous fighting and the indomitable will of our army and people against the enemy. His stories brought the members, youth, and team members back to the heroic atmosphere of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield in the past.
Along with deep gratitude, union members, youth, and team members also expressed their emotion, gratitude, and admiration for the strong will and great spirit of sacrifice of him and the soldiers participating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Today's young generation is more aware of their responsibility in preserving and promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude". The model of Filial Children has contributed to changing the awareness of young people and families about the feelings, roles, obligations, and duties of children and grandchildren towards grandparents and parents, fostering patriotism and national pride in the young generation.
The meeting is a testament to the deep gratitude of the younger generation to those who have made great contributions to the cause of national liberation. It is also a reminder of the responsibility of the younger generation in continuing the fine traditions of their ancestors, building the homeland and the country to become increasingly prosperous./.
