Youth Union members of Thuan Hoa district participate in general cleaning of the environment around Aeon Mall Supermarket

Every Sunday morning, green volunteer shirts cover the streets of Thuan Hoa district. Hundreds of youth union members actively participate in activities within the framework of the programs "Green Sunday" and "Sunday for the community". Not only are these environmental cleaning sessions, but they are also an opportunity for young people to spread the message of responsible living and connecting with the community.

Typically, in Bau Va Planning Area, which used to be a hot spot for waste and odor pollution, has now been "given a new look" thanks to the active participation of the Youth Union of Thuy Xuan Ward in coordination with the people. General cleaning sessions and "No dumping" signs have been erected, changing habits and raising community awareness. "Now, the neighborhood is clean and airy. People are more proactive in maintaining environmental hygiene," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, a resident here.

Recently, Thuan Hoa District Youth Union coordinated with Aeon Mall Hue Supermarket and An Dong Ward People's Committee to organize the program "Community Cleaning Day". In just one morning, more than 110kg of garbage was collected on the streets around Aeon Mall, returning a clean and fresh landscape to the city.

Actively guide people to contribute ideas to amend the Constitution

According to the Secretary of Thuan Hoa District Youth Union, Mr. Ho Quoc Huy, young people are the future owners of the country. Deeply aware of Uncle Ho's teachings, Thuan Hoa's youth always promote patriotism, constantly study, practice, and take the lead on all fronts. The image of the green volunteer shirt has become a familiar symbol in local community activities.

After 10 years of implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, the pioneering and exemplary role of Thuan Hoa youth has been further affirmed. The "Youth Volunteer" movement has been effectively linked with the program of building "New Rural Areas - Civilized Urban Areas". More than 73,000 youth union members and 127,000 people have participated in the campaigns, with nearly 24,000 youths directly carrying out more than 1,800 practical works and projects, with a total value of up to 4.6 billion VND. Notably, the construction and repair of 18 "Humanitarian" houses and "Red Scarf Houses" - meaningful gifts for disadvantaged families.

The programs “Repaying gratitude”, “Drinking water, remembering its source” such as offering incense in gratitude, visiting heroic Vietnamese mothers, supporting people with revolutionary contributions are also regularly implemented. The model “Thousands of meals of love” with more than 1,400 free meals has brought warm joy to many lonely elderly people, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing in the community.

Not only active in social work, the district's youth also made their mark through creative activities, such as the program "Hue Jogging - Running for the community" with more than 28,800 participants. The youth union also planted 430 urban trees, donated nearly 290 million VND to the "For the Poor" Fund, and awarded scholarships to students in difficult circumstances through the program "Helping you go to school".

In recognition of these contributions, for many years, the youth of Thuan Hoa district has been recognized by Hue City Youth Union as a leading unit in the emulation competition, receiving the Emulation Flag of the Central Youth Union and many certificates of merit from all levels. This is not only a source of pride but also a motivation for the young generation here to continue to promote their intelligence, bravery, and dedication, becoming exemplary citizens, contributing to building a rich and civilized homeland.
