As expected, the Vietnamese women's team faced many difficulties against opponents who were superior in strength and physique. After many opportunities were created right from the start of the match, Werder Bremen women's club opened the score in the 15th minute thanks to Walkling's decisive shot.

The Vietnamese women's team tried to push up their formation and were ready to play close to the high ground, but it was still too difficult for an opponent with such impressive physique. The first half ended with a 1-goal advantage for Werder Bremen. In the first 45 minutes, the Vietnamese women's team did not have any specific opportunities.

In the second half, the Vietnamese women's team conceded another goal. Goalkeeper Kim Thanh could only block the first shot from Werder Bremen. The ball bounced back and main striker Larissa Mühlhaus easily scored the rebound to raise the score to 2-0 in the 49th minute.

Coach Mai Duc Chung then decided to change the lineup by putting young players on the field, playing faster and more aggressively. This was a very correct decision when young striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen, after coming on as a substitute, scored a goal to shorten the score to 1-2.

Werder Bremen defender lost the ball in their own half. Ngoc Minh Chuyen received the ball from his teammate, accelerated, eliminated the opposing defender and finished with a delicate diagonal shot. The Vietnamese women's team reduced the score to 1-2 when the match entered the 65th minute.

Despite their best efforts in the final minutes, the Vietnamese women’s team still conceded two more goals. The match ended with a final score of 4-1 in favor of Werder Bremen. This is a useful lesson for the Vietnamese women’s players against the top German opponents.
