Binh Thuan and Tuyen Quang were two twin provinces during the anti-American resistance war. This twinned relationship has become more and more affectionate in the years after the country's reunification. That affection has always been respected, preserved and increasingly developed by the two provinces , such as: In Tuyen Quang, Phan Thiet Street, Phan Thiet School and a ward were named after Binh Thuan. Likewise, Binh Thuan also has Tuyen Quang School and Tuyen Quang Street. I am very happy that my house is on Tuyen Quang Street. And in the near future, when implementing the Project of rearranging administrative units (DVHC) at the commune level - streamlining the apparatus, there should be an administrative unit named Tuyen Quang. This action is both a demonstration of the affection before and after as well as the affection and aspiration of the cadres and people of Binh Thuan towards the twinned province of Tuyen Quang.

2. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tien (Ham Thuan Bac District)

During a business trip in December 2024, I had the opportunity to set foot in Tuyen Quang - a sacred land known as the "Capital of the Liberated Zone", " Capital of the Resistance", which marked the first steps of the Vietnamese revolution under the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho. Although I had read many documents and heard many stories about Tuyen Quang before, it was only when I actually entered the mountainous space here that I felt truly small before the depth of history and the silent beauty of the land and people.

Tuyen Quang to me is not only a place associated with historical milestones, but also a symbol of loyalty, simplicity and fidelity to the revolution. The people here - from the experienced elders to the highland children - all exude a gentle, friendly and affectionate aura. Just a look, a greeting is enough to make a faraway person like me feel warm.

I am particularly impressed with the way Tuyen Quang is a tourist destination associated with history. Without the hustle and bustle, without the color of commercialization, the province has kept intact the " red addresses " such as Tan Trao Communal House, Na Nua Shack, Tan Tra O Banyan Tree..., creating a close, authentic space for visitors to relive the atmosphere of the difficult years of resistance. Each stele , each stilt house roof, each ancient tree here seems to still whisper stories - stories about patriotism, sacrifice and the indomitable will of our ancestors.

And in those sacred emotions, I am even more moved when thinking about the steadfast, loyal love between two localities: Tuyen Quang and Binh Thuan. A mountainous region in the North - the cradle of revolution , a strip of land in the Central region - where the sun and wind tempered the resilient spirit of the people of the coastal region. Although geographically distant, these two lands are closely linked in the revolutionary source, in the same ideal, the same steadfast belief in the Party, and Uncle Ho. During the years of resistance, many people from Binh Thuan had marched, studied, and worked in the Viet Bac base - including Tuyen Quang. On the contrary, many cadres and soldiers from Tuyen Quang had gone to the South, joining the revolutionary movement in Binh Thuan. The comradeship and solidarity were forged from the same desire for independence, the same will to fight for the nation. That tradition has not been forgotten but continues to be nurtured in peacetime, through twinning programs between youth union members of the two provinces, and emotional visits and mutual learning.

The trip left me with many thoughts. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of modern life, returning to the land of history, patriotism and steadfast faith in the Party, I felt as if I had been given more strength to live with more ideals, to appreciate more the values ​​that our ancestors have worked hard to preserve and that every young person today has the responsibility to live up to the values ​​that have been cultivated from the blood, sweat and ideals of previous generations.

This morning, reading the news that Binh Thuan will have a commune named Tuyen Quang gave me an indescribable feeling. It was a feeling of happiness and pride when the affection between the two provinces did not fade over the years but became deeper and more sustainable .

I remember strangely , nearly 20 years ago, in 2006, the first time I went to Hanoi to attend the National Excellent Team Leader Festival . It was my first time in Hanoi, so I was very surprised , suddenly there were friends from Tuyen Quang group looking for Binh Thuan group. When we met, both sides were very happy, because we heard that they were sister units but had never met before . Therefore, during the week in Hanoi and Quang Ninh to attend the program, the two sides became very close to each other. After that, at the invitation of Tuyen Quang provincial youth union, I came to this place. The sincerity, closeness, and warmth of Tuyen Quang for Binh Thuan, for myself, made me extremely happy . From that day on, the relationships became increasingly close, I was also adopted by a family in Phan Thiet ward, Tuyen Quang province .

I know that in 1960, when the country was still immersed in the flames of war, responding to Uncle Ho's sacred call, the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Tuyen Quang officially became twin provinces, opening a long journey full of love and sharing. During the fierce war years, the people of Tuyen Quang devoted their best to sending to the southern rear, especially the land of Binh Thuan - where many hardships still existed. Small gifts , letters of encouragement, and drops of blood from the northern mountainous region gave strength to the soldiers and people of the South to steadfastly resist. After the country's reunification, that relationship did not stop but was increasingly nurtured through many practical activities. The two localities maintained exchanges and experiences in Party building, socio-economic development , together aiming for the common goal of improving people's lives. In particular , young generations in both provinces have had many opportunities to meet and exchange to better understand the history of the twinning relationship, thereby fostering patriotism, solidarity and responsibility for the homeland .

4. Tran Thi Thanh Thao (Xuan An ward - Phan Thiet city)

Binh Thuan - Tuyen Quang, two places in the South - North, the relationship of friendship that has been continued for 65 years has become a sacred, close relationship, forged from sharing , solidarity and deep, warm, loyal affection. People from Binh Thuan coming to Tuyen Quang can return to their home when looking around, everywhere are familiar names; Tuyen Quang favors Binh Thuan, Phan Thiet with the best things, wide roads named Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan; bustling central locations named Phan Thiet wards; schools, shops named Binh Thuan, Phan Thiet;... When Tuyen Quang people meet Binh Thuan people, they are happy, warmly welcome them as if welcoming relatives from far away . Wherever they go, the people are very enthusiastic, hospitable , giving Binh Thuan people sincere feelings, and that hospitality comes from the sincere hearts of Tuyen Quang people, not polite, not exaggerated and makes the recipients very moved. It can be said that geographical distance has never diminished the bond between the two localities, between Tuyen Quang people and Binh Thuan people. Binh Thuan people always mention Tuyen Quang with sincere affection . Tuyen Quang people have a deep love for Binh Thuan people . Continuing the bond between the two provinces, visits, meaningful gifts , exchange programs between generations... have further fostered understanding, affection and mutual respect. Through many ups and downs, that affection has always been steadfast, even becoming deeper.

Binh Thuan people not only follow the development of Tuyen Quang, but also feel proud when witnessing that land increasingly innovate, civilize and develop. In meetings and exchanges, people of the two provinces still call each other "brothers of the same family" - a simple way of calling but containing so much love and attachment. Tuyen Quang has been, is and will always be in the hearts of Binh Thuan people; no matter how time passes, no matter how many changes in names, generation after generation, the affection between the two provinces remains intact and will continue to be preserved, nurtured and promoted; because more than a sisterhood relationship, it is a sacred affection that has become flesh and blood - Tuyen Quang in the hearts of Binh Thuan people.
